I'm making a ttrpg heavily inspired by Homestuck! It involves a fully functioning game of Sburb while utilizing some of the cool and fun mechanics inspired by a bunch of different ttrpgs! This blog is designed to help organize my content while also getting the word out about this project!

Dungeonstuck used to be a DnD homebrew expansion, but that has since changed and it's its own game now!

I'm constantly adding new things to this blog, so all my posts are subject to change! So keep an eye out! I might have added something new! Once the game is at a playable stage in development, I will be releasing google files that describe everything I have posted here!

Hello! I like content that you've made, but i had a question while reading it

Will you continue posting? Or maybe you have discord to discuss various things that you haven't written yet?

Thanks so much for enjoying the stuff I've come up with! Unfortunately, the project is no longer something I'm interested in continuing though. It was a blast, and I had a lot of fun, but with life and my job and such, it's just to feasible to continue with it. I want to incorporate elements from this into other personal projects, but idk how far that will ever go. This isn't to say that I'll never post about this again, but I have no plans as of right now. I think Dungeonstuck could potentially work, and I would love to maybe expand on what I do have, but atm I am not worried about it if that makes sense lol

Sburb's Missing Texture

One thing that can cause a game to crash is a missing file. If an enemy or location is supposed to load an image for its texture and that file is damaged or missing, the game might crash.

One way games prevent that is to set a default "error" or "missing" texture, so that the object in question will look weird but the game will continue running.

Seeing as Sburb is a universe-encompassing game, you really, really don't want it to crash. So it would make sense to do this.

In which case, maybe you could see this 'missing' texture in...

Basic objects to which no texture has been applied,

entities from the game's barely-finished, glitched "solo player" mode,

or in foreign objects that operate outside the game's normal rules.

Creating a magic system that is balanced but still allows for the mechanics of magic that is seen in Homestuck is a real challenge tbh. Fraymotifs, natural abilities, and the ability to cast basic spells all need to fit into the same system, but they inherently need to function differently in order to be balanced. Ugg, my brain hurts today

New NPC! The indigo blood is done! I ran out of motivation to draw his lusus, so the art's gross in comparison to Chiron. Deal with it lol
