He's Got Me Lovestruck - Brad x Reader
I skateboarded down the street, Paramore filling my ears from my headphones and my beanie nearly flying off my head. I held onto it as I turned the corner onto the street I was headed for. I shifted my balance to stop myself from hitting people as I carried on down the street. I came to a sudden stop as I saw a huge crowd of what looked like pre-teen and teenage girls surrounding Starbucks.
"Bloody hell," I muttered under my breath. Usually I was able to just skate straight up to the door, but today I knew I'd have to shove through these girls. I picked up my skateboard and held onto my bag strap as I started to push through. Lots of the girls gave me evils, but I really didn't care. I couldn't be late, not again. I got to the door and went to push it open when I girl stopped me.
"What do you think you're doing?" she said. I looked at her, she looked about 19, two years older than me.
"Trying to get inside," I said, as though it was obvious, which it really was.
"What so you can meet the boys? When the rest of us have been waiting outside for ages for them to come out. I don't think so. And anyway, tough luck for you, no fans are allowed in," she said smirking.
"What are you talking about, fans? I work here," I said and shoved past her going inside. I walked behind the counter, putting my stuff into my locker and picking up my apron.
"So you managed to get through then?" Jake said to me as I put on my apron and tied up my hair.
"Only just," I said. I'd known Jake since I started working here back when I was 16. He was 19 at the time, now 20, and I was closer with him than I was with anybody else here. We had the same taste in music, films and pretty much anything else. We'd often be found at one of the tables on our breaks, rocking out to Paramore or All Time Low, drinking our hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows.
"Yea, I struggled to get in myself, they kept asking if I was a fan, and would I like to go to a concert with them," he said laughing.
"What is going on anyway?" I said as I started making a drink for a customer that was waiting.
"The Vamps are upstairs, have been for a while," he said. I looked at him in confusion.
"No, not The Who, The Vamps," he said, laughing at his own joke.
"Ha ha, very funny," I said, shoving him and then handing the customer their drink.
"Thank you," they said and walked off.
"The Vamps are that new band, you know the ones that became famous off of YouTube," he said, and I still looked at him in confusion. "They sang Can We Dance and Oh Cecilia," Still nothing clicked. "They supported McFly on tour in April of 2013,"
"Oh that band, you mean the one that I arrived to the McFly concert too late to see them." I said.
"Yea, them, well they're in town for something, don't know what, they came in about 3 hours ago..."
"And they're still here?" I asked, cutting him off.
"Would you want to walk through all that if you knew they were here for you? Anyway, someone tweeted that they were here and within ten minutes there was already about 50 girls outside," he said.
"So what are they going to do?" I asked before taking a customers order and handing a cup to Jake.
"Not sure, apparently they've said that they're fine to wait here for a while, but I don't know what's going to happen," he said as he made the drink. "All I know is we've been told not to let any teenagers in,"
"Oh good, you're here, can you go upstairs and clean the tables for me?" he said, already handing me a cloth.
"Sure thing," I said as he walked away, not really waiting for my answer.
"Have fun," Jake said as I walked off. I quickly whacked him in the butt with the cloth and proceeded upstairs. When I got up there I saw that there were only two women in their mid-thirties and their two babies in prams sat at a table close to the toilets and group of four boys, just a little older than me, sat on the couches and comfy chairs in the corner. It didn't take a genius to realise that these boys were clearly The Vamps. I started to clean up the tables that were closest to me, listening to the music that was playing through the shop speakers. After about 10 minutes the two women left leaving just the boys and I. I could feel a pair of eyes on me as I was cleaning one of the tables.
"Brad, Brad are you listening?" I heard one of the boys say and I looked up, catching the boy who had curly brown hair looking at me. He was obviously Brad as the other three boys were looking at him expectantly.
"Huh?" he said, not taking his eyes off of me.
"Brad, stop staring and leave the poor girl to work," a boy with dark blonde and brown hair said. Brad carried on looking at me, biting his lip in the process. I looking down at the table I was cleaning trying to hid the blush. I heard a chuckle, but I didn't dare look up. I carried on cleaning the tables, trying not to ease drop on the boys conversation, but considering they were the only people up here, it was hard not too. Within 5 minutes I'd already learnt the other three boy's names. As well as this every time I looked up from cleaning a table I'd catch Brad staring at me, occasionally he'd send me a wink, causing me to go as red as a tomato and he'd always chuckle, which would make my blush worse. Soon I'd cleaned all of the tables and it was only the boy's that was left.
"Do you think they've calmed down?" The one called James asked.
"Afraid not boys," I heard Jake say as he came up behind me. "If anything there's more of them,"
"What are you doing?" I asked Jake as he came over.
"I came to ask the boys if they want anymore drinks, cause they're gonna be in here awhile," he said.
"Yea, that'd be nice, same as before," The one called Tristan said.
"Cool, plus I wanted to see if you were finished yet, I miss you," he said wrapping his arms around me. I could see out of the corner of my eye Brads face fall.
"I've only got their table left if you must know," I said, pointing at the boys. "Now get off me you creep,"
"What if I don't want to?" he said tightening his grip.
"Get off," I pushed his arms off me and got out of his grip.
"Fine, I get it, you don't like me anymore, I'll just leave," he said, pretending to wipe a tear away and walking downstairs. I just laughed and started picking up the boys cups.
"Well you too seem pretty close," Connor said suggestively.
"What? Oh no, we're just friends, he's like a brother to me, it would be weird,"
"Really, you sure there's nothing else going on?" Tristan said, eyeing Brad. I looked over at Brad trying to see what Tristan was looking at but shook it of.
"Absolutely not, as I say, it'd be way too weird," I said, turning away.
"Well that'll make Brad happy," James muttered as I walked away.
"Shut up, you'll scare her off," Brad hissed. I carried on walking and went downstairs. I took the cups back into the washing area and walked back behind the counter.
"Oh so you want to talk to me now," he said, refusing to look at me.
"Shut up you weirdo," I laughed.
"Fine, but you need to do something for me," he said.
"What?" I said suspiciously.
"Take the boys their drinks, I imagine it won't be too hard for you," he said as I started to put the drinks on the tray.
"Because you're probably already missing them," he said smirking at me.
"Am not," I said in disbelief.
"Oh don't worry, Brad's probably already missing you as well, I saw how he was looking at you,"
"Yea, sure," I said, starting to walk upstairs.
"He wants you, and you want him too," he shouted at me. I just turned my head and stuck my tongue out at him. I carried on upstairs not watching where I was going, only watching the tray to make sure I didn't spill anything, it wouldn't be the first time. This consequently caused me to bump into someone, making all the drinks fall off the tray and the cups to smash into lots of pieces.
"Shit," the person and I said at the same time. I looked up to see Brad.
"It's fine, I wasn't looking where I was going," I said, going to the cupboard to get a mop and dustpan and brush.
"(y/n)," I heard my boss shout as I started to mop up the spilled drinks.
"(y/n), I heard a smash, what..." my boss trailed off after seeing me cleaning up the mess.
"I'm sorry," I said quietly.
"You know what the policy is if you spill drinks and break cups," he said in a condescending tone.
"I know," I sighed looking at the floor. Brad was still stood near which made it ten times worse.
"I'm going to take all of this out of your wages," my boss said, and then started to walk away. I sighed and carried on cleaning.
"No, don't take it out of her wages," Brad quickly said making my boss turn around and me look up. "It was my fault, I bumped into her causing her to spill it, don't blame her for it,"
"That's all well and good, but it still has to be paid for and she knows the policy, I have to..."
"I'll pay for it," Brad said cutting him off quickly. "How much is it?"
"Um, about £25," my boss said, just as shocked as me. Brad took his wallet out and gave him 3 tens.
"Keep the change," he said and then took the mop off of me and started cleaning up the rest of the drink. My boss looked at me and then walked off.
"You didn't have to do that," I said, bending down to start sweeping up the broken pieces of the cups.
"I wanted to," he said, "Can't having a pretty girl like you losing money because of my clumsiness," I blushed a little at the fact that he called me pretty and stood up with the dustpan.
"But it wasn't even your fault, it was mine, I bumped into you," I said, tipping the pieces into the bin and then pulling the bin bag out.
"Yea, but your boss doesn't need to know that," he whispered, then winked at me and went back to his friends. I watched him for a second and then put the mop back and went downstairs with the bin bag.
"(y/n) what happened? I heard a smash, are you OK?" Jake asked as I came downstairs.
"I'm fine," I said putting the bin bag in the big bin at the back. "But the boys are going to need more drinks,"
"No, it's fine, we'd better get going anyway," I heard James say as they came down the stairs, causing all the girls outside to start screaming. "Only problem is we're not going to be able to get out,"
"You can go out the back way, (y/n) will take you," my boss said.
"Thanks, that'd be great," they said and then followed me as I led the out the back. I opened the door for them.
"Hope you don't get caught by any fans," I said.
"Thanks," they said and James, Connor and Tristan started to walk off, but Brad lingered back looking at me.
"Aren't you going to go?" I asked.
"Just one more thing," he said and then stepped forward and pressed his lips to mine. It took me a second to react but I quickly started kissing back, wrapping my arms around his neck as his went around my waist. We pulled apart after about a minute and I felt him slip something into my hand before he ran off to meet his expectant friends. I watched him go and then looked at what he'd slipped into my hand. It was a piece of paper which read Call me Xx and then his number. I shut the door and walked back inside, slipping the paper into my pocket. I walked back behind the counter to a smug looking Jake.
"What are you smirking at?"
Hope you liked it. If you want anymore just ask.
