kinda love this dynamic where ilya's like i get to have sex with anyone i want anytime i want and i also get to tell you about it while you visibly try to repress your feelings. but the second i think you might be having sex with someone else i am going to absolutely fucking spiral. epic crash out. because when I have sex it is empty and meaningless and utterly devoid of real emotional intimacy but you are a rule-following little dweeb who would still be a virgin if i hadn't deflowered you when we were like 18 so i fucking KNOW it means something to you!!!!!! the hypocrisy is delicious

heated rivalry just gets queer intimacy. they get that it’s important and sweet and sexy to show the open and honest conversations that are/should be part of sex, of self-discovery. they get that not everything has to be a fast and dynamic montage made purely with aesthetics in mind. they get that it is in the slow and hesitant and perhaps slightly awkward moments that we truly get to see how these characters feel about themselves and each other, that it is that vulnerability that speaks to viewers. everything felt so real and raw and natural in a way you don’t often get to see in media. kudos to everyone involved, but connor and hudson especially for allowing themselves to be so open and vulnerable!

hudson saying this was one of his favorite scenes..... it really has everything............. it's so romantic and cathartic after ilya's been ignoring him but also playful but also. i will go into cardiac arrest right now.

one of my favourite scenes to come out of these first two episodes. you can just see how damn glad Shane is to be speaking to and close with Ilya for the first time in six months. Ilya's making his little jabs and Shane's just got the softest smile on his face, he's absolutely enamoured. that "wow, genetic?" genuinely makes me so fucking emotional.

equally brilliant is when you see Ilya read this in Shane as well as feel it within himself and then you watch him close-up, pull away and bring it back to strictly sex.
