I hate this episode because I love Vicky/Glam.
We didn't learn anything substantial that you couldn't already infer from watching the Animated Music Video and the episodes prior. Hell, you can watch the trailer and learn everything you need to know!!! Substantial being anything that adds depth to the characters, specifically Vicky because Ches and Glam already have their episodes. Instead we devote more time to Glam being a 2020 INTJ. And I'm saying this as a mega fan of Glam-- he gets WAY TOO MUCH ATTENTION AND WE DON'T EVEN LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT HIM SO WHAT'S THE POINT. Wowwwwwwww is he smart and charming and can use his brain to get out of situations and was on top of it all along as usual i didn't fucking knoooowwwwwwww.
To those who like the story for the characters, this episode will be shit. The most interesting part was when Glam showed his scars to Vicky and it kind of shows why their dynamic works...? Glam wants to move on from his troubled past and here walks in the epitome of his type. But isn't... Conflict... What makes a story.. good???
"I don't think I would make a good mother." Oh wow, are we going to explore Victoria's conflicted thoughts on motherhood, maybe how Glam is able to help her in that regard showing that they as a couple were truly meant to be together? No wait it immediately gets resolved because Glam says otherwise and he's always right and instead we get exposition on Bug instead of letting Vicky breathe as her own character. I'm not even looking for Vicky backstory. Everything just goes too smooth sailing like we didn't ALREADY KNOW Glam and Victoria were meant to be together???? They baited us with Vicky turning down the engagement like there was going to be actual fucking tension in this episode.
And sadly, to those who care about the lore, this episode will still be shit, because they're just breadcrumbing more obscure clues about the stalker or whatever.
This episode felt more like a vignette of shit that happened in the past and not an actual storyline. This could have been an email. To the Glam/Ches shippers, I throw in the towel. You guys win. The yaoi wins. I am not happy! I wanted this episode to be walking proof of why Vicky/Glam could be just as good! Fuck my heterosexual life.
I'm beginning to think Metal family doesn't like women... I dunno boss, Vicky buying lingerie having more screen time and relevance over her own conflicts over being married/a mother is very blatant π€π€ Nah let's throw in more Bug moments to be sure. And let's make Victoria not do anything and have Glam and Bug protect her at the end! #Women #Girl #Girl Power
It felt like instead of Bug being supplemental and a plot device to explain away a few minor details in service of the main attraction: Victoria and Glam, they shafted Vicky (and not Glam, wonder why) to make room for Bug. Don't you love it when women are treated like this in media π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
