You may be a pretty girl—that doesn’t mean that you can be a model.
The best models transcend pretty—they become art. That one is kind of hard to qualify but you will know it when you see it happening. We did.
The character that you see represented in the photos of their body of work and the person that you meet for the shoot usually are not the same thing—and that’s generally pretty awesome!
If it feels sketchy at the outset, more than likely it’s sketchy.
Just because you’ve worked with a model and she was fabulous doesn’t mean that a different model friend of hers has the same reputation. Sometimes good people are friends with bad people and sometimes friendships can blind, folks. Evaluate everyone independently.
Just because that photographer is your friend doesn’t mean that he isn’t a creep when he is one on one with a model and no one else is around.
Unless a model’s travel companion/escort/bodyguard is disruptive or causing a shoot to go awry, you have no reason to bar them. If you think you do, perhaps you should reevaluate your intentions.
There is no reason, under any circumstance, for you to touch that girl.

Don’t try to renegotiate the agreed upon rates once you know that you have someone captive in your city.
If you book a model that is traveling to your city—to shoot with you—don’t cancel on them.
If you book a model that is traveling to your city—to shoot with you—you should probably compensate them at least an hour’s worth of whatever the agreed upon rate was if you cancel on them. (But you really shouldn’t cancel on them. What’s wrong with you, anyway?)
If you book with a photographer and you cancel on them after you took a deposit, you should refund the deposit. Really.
That’s a lie. We both know that your grandma didn’t die.
Models are people. They are people that you are paying to do work. Sometimes that work is hard. Let them take a break. Sometimes they even have to pee. That’s because models are people.
At a bare minimum, don’t be a dick.
