Not sure why you get so offended about people giving you legitimate constructive criticism. It's obnoxious and it's not a good look.

I’ve spoken about this a lot already, I don’t think it’s constructive crit-- more a difference of taste. I’m not afraid of it looking bad or obnoxious if it’s truly how I feel, I won’t apologize for that.

Thanks for all the warm responses I got from last night's posts. I really appreciate it. As much as i pretend to not care what people think about the stuff I put out, it still stings to have people compare myself to my past work. It's hard as an artist to separate your worth from what you put out, all of your taste and what you think is valuable is put on display in your pieces, and while accepting constructive criticism is part of growing... sometimes you just get comments that feel like you're just getting knocked down a peg, the ones that question what you're doing and who you are. I know it's kinda a big reaction to just a rando but it's not the first time it's happened :/ Anyhow, hope that explains what I'm feeling. I know I'm not really good about this sorta stuff. -Yama

Honestly, and I really don't mean this in a negative way, and I really hope you'll take it in a constrictive criticism sense, I liked your old work more. It looked like you put more time and effort into it and gave more care to different body types and anatomy.

You gotta understand that over time, what an artist (or any person for that matter) values will change. I don’t really care about drawing a diversity of body types. I’ll draw whatever body type i’m into at the moment, being inclusive to a range of different types doesn’t matter to me, I don’t care if that means i’m not casting as wide of a net. I also put anatomy on the backburner when shape and flow is concerned. Anatomy isn’t unimportant to me, but up to a certain point the accuracy of it has diminishing returns in an illustration, whereas time spent into appealing shapes and poses that flow well pays out in spades.

I don’t know who you think I am, but please give me more credit than you do. I am an artist, I think about my work on a daily basis, and this isn’t really a critique moreso than your tastes not lining up with the way i’ve grown. I’m not going to apologize for what I value, I am not going to cater to your type of mindset, and I do not care how many others think like you. What is great about art is that i’m free to communicate what I want, how I want to.
