You are quite lately, are you even here anymore? What do you think about all,of what happens lately?

I‘ll keep this brief.

Why should I give a platform to someone who, for quite some time now, has clearly been intent on portraying himself as a man in the midst of a midlife crisis?

He decided a while ago to sell this slightly “tacky” image; I decided that I‘m not interested in it and would rather spend my free time doing something else.

But from a mother’s perspective, it would have been nice if he hadn’t completely ignored the child. That’s always been his problem—he can’t really sell a story he isn’t convinced of. That’s very surprising for an actor.

It is easier to point fingers at others than to engage in honest self-reflection.

A relationship does not begin with a wedding, nor does a wedding change the way people interact with each other. A relationship does not arise from photo snippets that strangely always end up in the mailbox of the same blogger.

A foundation, if not the most important one, for a happy and functioning relationship is mutual respect. Without respect, there is no trust, and without trust, no relationship can function.

There is a significant difference between protecting privacy and showing respect. We have seen the former from both Cait and Sam over the years, but unfortunately never the latter towards their respective partners.

Action speak louder then words. You can blame the shipper community as much as you want, but it's you who are feeding them by publicly ignoring and disrespecting your “real life” partners.

Outlander is dead

Let's pretend we don't know the OL fandom—that we have no idea there are antis, onlies, shippers, etc. Let's just focus on the show, which, let's be honest, has lost a lot of its appeal since season 3.

They killed the story, the chemistry and to a large extent, the acting performance a long time ago. Most fans are readers of Diana's books and still want to know how the story ends in the series. For a long time now, the series has been unable to convey what fascinates readers of the books so much—the love story of Jamie & Claire.

When season 8 ends, Outlander may remain on Netflix or Prime, but there won't be much demand for it. The competition is too fierce, and there are many more interesting series that are much more appealing, especially to younger audiences. Starz has known this for a long time, and at some point Sam will also have to realize that his personal/Sassenach marketing strategy was too one-sidedly focused on his Jamie image and serving his female fan base.

The question remains whether he is capable of changing his image. Personally, I doubt that at the moment.

We go round and round in circles discussing the real/fake/whatever “Christmas photos.”

Meanwhile, the photos have achieved exactly what they were meant to. Away from the image of an actor who behaves like a teenager in midlife crisis in an IG story by a fitness influencer.

Towards the “loving” man in his mid-forties who, after a long search and with a problem committing to relationships, has finally found his own little family.

Who cares that nothing about this story seems organic nor natural.

A fiction does not become truth simply because someone stubbornly persists in trying to sell it.

Best Christmas present ever. Finally and not so surprising, a picture of the couple in love together in one frame.

Why oh why looks everything in this picture, especially Sam’s expression so familiar. O wait, maybe because his emotional expression is an exact replica of the pictures with MM. Anyone remember the escape room pictures?

The more they try to sell this story, the less credible it becomes.
