Most of it seems to be people arguing over visual novels or its like they're mostly into manhwa which isn't what i tend to like. also a lot of them end up being like...14 LOL I think tumblr is probably the safer place

i’m not the hundred line anon i’m someone else but i’ve got the bug and i too am very not normal about it. the popular ship is eitaku/takuei which is essentially hinted at/suggested throughout the entire game and is pretty much canon (in the way that kodaka loves writing yaoi and it’s clearly his favorite thing, and in thl he grows enough of a pair to make it a little more obvious than his other work). there’s yugamu, who is a sadomasochistic pervert and openly bisexual yaoibait character so people have a lot of freaky slash ships with him as well. my personal favorite pairing with him is with this really annoying bitchy “heterosexual” uke that loves to complain and cry. they make a very “classic yaoi” couple to me, though there’s not a ton of canonical content for them (yugaku). i think a lot of hundred line was definitely written for fujoshis and kodaka himself frequently likes slash content of thl on twitter. he wants to add more to the game and everyone jokes that he just wants to keep making gay fanfiction of his own characters, which i agree. why else would you make a game with a hundred endings featuring a few guys with cartoonishly perverted dynamics and interactions with eachother if not to bump them together like barbie dolls.

Eitaku looks cute...the characters aren't so much my type but looking at the fanart I can definitely see the appeal and it's awesome that its basically canon >:D

Yugamu looks interesting, again not really my type but I can definitely see why people would like him. The uke in yugaku is soo cute though LOL

I looked at the character lineup and they don't really jump out to me too much beyond that cute bratty uke lolol does the guy with the green pumpkin head ever show his face?

it depends on what metric you use to judge. obviously theres going to be a decent similarity to danganronpa since its the brainchild of the same guy, you can tell his character writing is in it. but thl is different from dr in that it has different routes like a vn, instead of one strict story with chapters, and since its really big, there are other writers who have their own angles on things.

my favourite route is the "one guy tornenting another guy" thriller genre one, its yaoi as fuck, it felt like they put awesome fanfic into the game itself. theres also an erotic horror style one. before the game came out they released an ending cg from that route, with one character ominously looming over character laying down and theyre both dudes and naked. when the game dropped people were trying to find that route for it and the context is worse than they imagined, which is nice. basically, as an evil gay pervert, i felt well-fed.

(there is more to the game and i think its genuinely neat, but i was also reluctant to play it at first, and had i known this particular stuff, i would have been sold on it much sooner. i believe it also has a demo, if you want a taste. or full playthroughs on youtube. playing all of the routes is like a 170 hour investment, though, which is a lot)

TYSM....You know I'll definitely check out the demo sometime soon, honestly I do appreciate you going into it and being honest about being reluctant too cuz yk dangan ronpa can have a bit of a bad rep
