“I’m lonely. And I’m lonely in some horribly deep way and for a flash of an instant, I can see just how lonely, and how deep this feeling runs. And it scares the shit out of me to be this lonely because it seems catastrophic.”

the sirens still echo in the back of her hearing. far away, intermittent, almost ghost-like. but when silence is absolute, she can still hear them, constantly. is the same exact thing with the lights. flashes that come and go, fast and unreadable, blue, white and red tinting the corners of her surroundings just for a second. and sometimes she can even still feel it. the tension, the anguish, the panic that filled everyone, herself included. if she stays still, she can feel her own heart, beating fast and unsteady. and she hates it.
siyeon has never been good at dealing with commotions. her strategy for it has always been the same: not dealing with them, actually. brush everything under a rug, lock it on a trunk and throw the key away, just plain ignore everything and go on as if it didn’t exist.
and that’s why she’s there, at the club, working as if that day was no different than any other. as if she hadn’t been completely sleepless the night before. she is armed with her classic oh so charming smile and she’s wearing a happy facade, and she’s fully focused on her job. because that’s the best way to keep everything else away. because that’s the best way to prevent her from falling apart.
that is, until yejin suddenly appears out of nowhere.
“oh, yejin! hello to you too” siyeon’s smile falters, a slight almost undetectable temblor that sums everything that goes on her mind that very short second. yejin. her friend. whom she’s been missing so much. whom she’s been avoiding for the last months. whom she saw the other night. and now siyeon knows she saw her too. still, she tries to keep on her facade. “mm yeah, of course, i was going to do my break anyway. follow me”, with a small nod, she guides her through a staff door, to the dressing room, where they are alone. and when she turns back to face yejin again, for the first time in maybe forever, she doesn’t know what to say. any expected expression, any question, any word, can be backfired to her. “it’s been so long, right?” she still dares, because she at least has to try.

perhaps it had always been this way and she just never had noticed it. perhaps, every look, every smile and every laughter shared between had been a lie .perhaps they were never even friends to begin with. how often did she wonder if she ever had really known siyeon. that she was probably the only one who entrusted her with her secrets, while siyeon was probably the one who was only making secrets without giving them away. yejin tried to understand her, tried to find a good reason for her odd behaviour, but in the end of the day she’d betrayed her. them. and that didn’t change a thing.
yejin met her greetings with a glare, showing her that she didn’t come here for a casual meeting between friends. she didn’t even know if they were friends at this very moment. all she knew was that she was furious. betrayed. hurt. and that she demanded answers. following siyeon, she kept silent, trying to rationalize the situation and not let her anger get to her too much, causing her to say things that wouldn’t led to answers but just as a tool to hurt her. but it was so damn hard and as usual she just let her emotions overcome her, making her appear not as tough as she wanted other people to believe her to be. “ you don’t need to pretend as if we’re still friends.” she muttered as they were heading to another room. at least she managed to do that. still, some regret inked her heart and if she didn’t know & wasn’t filled with anger one could say she felt bad for saying that.
as she stepped into the dressing room, she closed the door, leaning with her back against it, crossing her arms & waiting for the silence to give her some comfort. however, all it did was to make her horribly uncomfortable. her lips turned into a bitter smile, and she almost let out a small laugh at the irony of the situation. it was funny. oh so ironic, how once siyeon was one of the very few people who she’d be comfortable with without feeling the need to speak a word. and now here she was, with every inch of her body wanting to run away and just forget about everything she’d seen & pretend that everything was fine. like she usually would do. but, seeing her after months of desperately trying to talk to her with getting nothing in return and worrying about her everyday, only to find out that she turned her back on her --. what was she supposed to do ? especially when siyeon was acting as if nothing of that ever happened. pretending that she cared even a tiny bit for her when she didn’t. “ well, i tried to look for you but it turned out i was the only one who ever cared about our friendship.and yes it had been long but i don’t think we should waste our time with meaningless small talk and keep on pretending that we’re actually friends.” bitterness slipped out of her lips, a feeling she just couldn’t shake off. “ but that’s not what i came to talk about. i saw you that night with one of the king’s members, and i’m not that stupid to believe that you just shared some meaningless talk. so tell me did you turn your back on me -” she halted for a second, a hint of vulnerability crossing her eyes before her gaze turned cold again, correcting herself “ us- for them ? tell me the truth, i just want to be done with this so i can finally move on, siyeon.”

her wounds caused by the tumultuous night still hadn’t healed yet , but yejin was wandering around, her feet hurting and wounds threatening to cut open again. if it wasn’t for that very thing that was keeping her awake at night, yejin would have probably spend her time away from all the chaos the night had brought with it. however, yejin was agitated and looking for explanations. actually, an e x p l a n a t i o n, for siyeon’s weird behaviour. and while, she only had some weak evidence based on assumptions, her instincts told her that something was wrong. or perhaps it was just the mere fact, that siyeon had lied to her. at first, she felt angry. not only because she lied to her but also to the rest of the members. she told herself, that she wouldn’t care and would just be done with her. however, with every passing second the fire kept growing, boiling her blood. yejin knew that just sitting around, losing herself in her thoughts and continue spinning stories in her head, would only drive her mad. that’s why she was here. looking for her & looking for answers. and, if everything played out like she imagined it to be, it’d be quick. like ripping off a band-aid where the pain would only last for a moment. however, as soon as she spotted siyeon and her legs sent her to the ground, with her kneeling behind some clothing bin, she knew that everything she came up with, was merely wishful thinking. still, why was she even hiding at the first place ? was she scared of the truth ? or would siyeon confirming her suspicions only deepen her wounds instead of relieving her from the heaviness pulling on her heart ? she sure wouldn’t find out if she continued hiding like a fool. so, she finally made up her mind and headed towards her direction, stopping right there in front of her, deliberately crossing her path.“ i think we need to talk. -- now.” ( @rcdmoons )

yeunminsu· !
he had never felt so lost. here stands not the fighter who enjoyed violence. here stands a lost boy, torturing himself with the words that one of his gang mates had said to him : he’s a dead man. the cocaine soaking in his veins pulled the trigger of panic in his mind, he can’t lose someone so soon again. not like this. death shouldn’t be so close, shouldn’t be so familiar. heart beating and beating, suffocatingly, everything seemed too fast, everything seems to close into him. minsu felt the cold snap of a metal handcuff on his right wrist, and he is trying to fight them off. someone helps him, but it all happens too fast for him, for his drug filled mind to understand. stumbling is not quite a choice as he is dragged across the area, any other circumstance he would have pushed the person that tried to help him away, but now he doesn’t meet the gaze of whoever has dared put their hands on him. he can’t bring himself to drag his gaze away from where he should be running to instead, where he left doyeon bloodied and alone.
the way his name is spoken, caress familiarity along his skin. it has been too long since his name is spoken so soft and he remembers who the voice belongs to. “what are you doing here?” the question comes out in a surprised hiss and he shakes his head as the words of denial trickle from his lips, “you shouldn’t be here,” his voice barely above a whisper. he doesn’t want to see her, he doesn’t want her to help him. not like this, not when everything feels familiar and unfamiliar all at once. not when everything hurts. vulnerability is not something he shows, vulnerability doesn’t belong to him, but standing so close to her, he felt bare and every feeling was laid out to be felt by her. the very sight of her adds on to the wave of anxiety, confusion through him and its all too much. “i have to go back - i have to, ” his voice sounds strange to him: brittle and panicky. closing his eyes and clenching his jaw, he tries to ignore how loud his breathing sounds but it has become impossible. “i can’t -i-can’t,” can’t leave him there. in his head he was screaming, doyeon, doyeon, siwoo, in reality he was just gasping, breath shallow and irregular, each drawing closer to the next. he supported himself with one hand against the wall, the handcuff still cuffed to his wrist dangling like a broken bracelet, “i-i-can’t breath. i can’t-”
⁓ ♡ ♡ ♡ ⁓
his sight hit her like a dagger to the chest. knocking her out of her own body and forcing her to watch everything from a distance. right now, it wasn’t her that was affected by the sight, of a broken boy. it wasn’t her shivering, her feet bare and her cheeks slapped by the cold wind. she was just an empty shell, standing there, completely shut down. it was heart-wrenching. her heart falling into tiny pieces at the scene right in front of her. he was barely a ghost of what he remembered him to be like and only now she realized how much time must had passed, since she’d last seen him. he looked broken. vulnerability dripping from his features, spilling right before her feet. everything about this was so unusual. she barely did know what to do or what to say. but who would even know what to do in a situation like this. everything, was a mess. chaos at it purest form. a plethora of emotions clogging her throat and paralyzing ever inch of her body. her emotions, ranging from guilt to self-loathing; working their way through the fibers of her essence. all she wanted was to run away but his cracking voice, barely strong enough for a whisper & the distraught look in his eyes stopped her. she couldn’t just leave him alone. she had done it once. leaving with nothing but a short explanation. perhaps only that way she could make up a little for the pain she’d inflicted upon him.
yejin was about to answer his question, but her words could barely leave her lips when his strange behaviour started to unfold and sent a wave of panic over her body. “ listen, minsu you can’t go back.” she almost shouted, the stress scratching on her patience. from the empty shell that she was only seconds ago, now her whole being was filled with tension. only wishing to escape before it was too late. she couldn’t stand it anymore. but she had to remain calm. his heavy breathing became louder and his words tangled. “ you can’t what ? what is wrong ?” she asked, her body now shivering with fear. fear that something worse might happen to him and that she wouldn’t be able to help him. almost instinctively, she reached out for him only to stop mid air. right now, she had to calculate every of her action and perhaps that would be just too much. instead, she tried suffocating the trembling of her voice, by taking a deep breath, softening her tone and trying to calm him down, while she’d come up with another solution. but with every second, his condition only became worse and she almost fell back to her panic when he suddenly told her he couldn’t breath. “ focus on your breathing, minsu ! everything will be alright, okay ?” she assured him, hoping that it was really ‘just’ his own mind telling him that he isn’t able to breath. “ minsu, listen. listen to my voice. i’m here, i won’t leave you, okay ?” she felt her voice faltering, the horror weighing down on her. “ if there’s anything i can do, you can tell me, but for now just concentrate on your breathing. it’s going to be okay.” please, she thought. and hoped she was right.
