NSTP- SELF & OTHERS
People tend to grow up having different priorities in life. This may be highly influenced by our upbringing and personal experiences. An activity done last Sept.9, 2019 by Prof. Michelle Alcantara showed how each individual differ from each other. We were tasked to exchange thoughts with our seatmate on what’s more important to us. Whether its social status, class, religion, etc. It was interesting to see how different our views in life are. Another activity introduced was the power walk. It was very interesting to see the difference between the privileges of people. Some people have the luxury and freedom to do anything they want. Whilst the others cannot even get the basic necessities that a human should have. Through the activity we saw how divided we are as people. We live very different lives from each other.
Overall the talk gave me a sense of how reality is. Through those simple activities, my mind has been slightly more open as to how the real world is. Yes, we interact with each other and we feel like we know the people around us, but what we don’t know is that we live very different lives, but we adjust to the people around us to look more in place. I just want to say that I loved how the talk was executed. It got us all thinking at the end of the. It gave us a little more sense of reality towards the real world.
