It’s so much easier to leave the house in Cascadia.
When I’m at home, I have a panic attack every time I even think about setting foot outside the door.
But when I’m here, I can just... leave. Some of it is that I have friends and Lily or Lev or Asher or someone is willing to walk with me and help me leave. And some of it is that... no one is watching me. No one is trying to see if my clothes are feminine enough and modest enough; no one’s judging whether I’m behaving the way a proper Christian woman should; no one cares if my hands move funny or I bounce when I walk.
It’s nice.

leaving aside the matter of what god might or might not want, if you're frequently too anxious to leave the house that sounds like a really good reason for you to do remote work? I'm an atheist I don't give a shit what gileadites think god's trying to tell you, but it doesn't sound like working outside the home is working for you.

Lots of women in J’s community work outside the home! Women in lots of countries like Canada and England work outside the home. Christians in Gilead are actually the weird one here.
