Another W for Animorphs! The series ends with them actually being tried at the Hague for breaching the Geneva Convention. The Animorphs are found not guilty because they won the war. They resent the court for not punishing their numerous human rights violations and mass murders.

What is the FFA and why is it such a threat to the Sharing?

The Future Farmers of America is a nonprofit youth organization that teaches leadership, trade skills, animal husbandry, etc. They do volunteer work and applied job training. Not every teenager in Iowa is a member, but it's a considerable subset. And if The Sharing rolled up to Iowa, especially in the 1990s, then most people's reaction would be "looks like a crappy FFA knockoff with 0.01% of the scholarship opportunities. I'mma just... not join that."

Animorphs 5 gave us so much. They fit so much into that tiny little book. Two kids getting almost boiled alive for dinner in a regular human kitchen in a scene that had sort of nothing to do with the plot. Ax going completely insane at radio shack and almost dooming the Earth by virtue of total inability to behave normally in public for ten seconds. A disillusioned teenager making a desperate attempt to abnegate his duty for what would turn out to be the last time in his fucking life, then realizing twenty minutes later that he's incapable of that. A gaggle of teens experiencing ego death and getting ripped to pieces by completely normal ants before blindly bursting out of the suffocating earth and running home in leotards, only for one of them to find an ant pincer in his hip in the shower later and have a brief but thorough nervous breakdown in his bathroom. The same gaggle of teens catching a glimpse of their home planet from the window of a spaceship sent to consume that planet, struck by its beauty and by the weight of the duty of care for it that's been placed on their shoulders, moments before they are brought to believe they have failed that duty irrevocably and will die before they reach their home again. And all of that was before the book got to Evagate.

In case they haven’t been mentioned on this blog, I’d like to give a shoutout to Animorphs Aloud! It’s a currently still updating fan production reading through Animorphs, and they release a new chapter every few days. The narrator of it is so good at doing distinct and emotional performances for each of the cast, and I’d def recommend it for anyone that wants to reexperience Animorphs!!!

Thank you for the rec — I hadn't heard of this one! I love the fan production of the Megamorphs 1 audiobook, so I have high hopes for Animorphs Aloud being just as good.

What if the Animorphs were transplanted into the world of mass effect?

I haven't played. Mass Effect and Animorphs fans, anyone wanna weigh in?

Marco would commit a genocide. I'm not sure how, and I'm not sure which one, but there's so many alien species in that series just ripe for Marco's clear line to decimate. It's a universe on the brink of extinction and I can see Marco and Rachel (and Ax?) speeding it along.

Jake and Garrus would be best bros. Rachel would also love Garrus, because they love to beat people up together, but I feel Garrus and Jake have a lot of the same energy sometimes. Garrus would be the only person to really appreciate Jake's jokes. I feel this in my soul.

Cassie is a hard one because there's not really a lot of animals in space. I think she'd get along with older Asari, but be weirded out by some of their cultural norms. Honestly, depending on how long they were there, I think she might shift from zoology to xenobiology, just because the amount of alien species are so so vast and also there have been like a million cases of biological warfare resulting in generations-long symptoms and viruses. I think she would feel compelled to fix it. Yup, Cassie goes to alien med school.

Rachel would find herself adopted by a very nice krogan couple. She's their weird, smooth child, but she has the heart of a krogan, and they love her very much. She gets a battle suit of her very own in bear morph, and they teeth her how to shoot a gun with her claws. It's terrifying.

Ax would be convinced he's the one meant for diplomacy, here, since he's also an alien, but he would cause 500 inter-galaxy disputes and then almost die of an allergic reaction because he ate a weird fruit that Andalite/human bodies aren't able to process.

The hanar would be trustworthy allies of the animorphs because they don't have infestable bodies for the Yeerks to take over.

The Yeerks would ally themselves with the vorcha since everyone already hates them.

Though in general I think that it would be harder for the Yeerks to win in a universe where humans already know about aliens.
