30 things at 30 from Fabricio Lima on Vimeo.
Last year, on 5th of January of 2012, I reached my 30th birthday on a hot summer day in Australia. I was a feeling a bit weird and lost. So I decided to list 30 things I knew about myself so far... I been staring at that list during the whole year and realizing that most of them wouldn't change with time...
I decided to create a GIF animation to each one of them. And this was the result. If you know me, then you probably know these things already! :)

Bottled History from Smith Journal on Vimeo.
Ray Gascoigne has been around boats his whole life, as a shipwright, a merchant sailor, and now as a ship builder on the smallest dry dock there is: a bottle. This short film by Smith Journal and Melbourne-based production studio Commoner picks through the wood chips to tell the story of a craft honed over 60 years, and the man behind it. A step-by-step account of the process was featured in Smith Journal volume six. More info about the project here: bit.ly/YUU07v

Bat For Lashes "Lilies" from Peter Sluszka on Vimeo.
Natasha Khan summons spirits and conjures a mysterious landscape teeming with spectral visions. Her cryptic lyrics become an incantation unleashing a trio of curious puppets, torrents of wax and paper ocean, and numerous other animated spectacles. Pulsing cloud contraptions blasting lightning and energy initiate Natasha's otherworldly transformations.
Life-sized puppets, a flock of 2d spirits, miniature landscapes, morphing polygons, and most importantly, Natasha herself were animated to create a universe in constant flux

Neil Harbisson was born with achromatopsia, a rare condition that causes complete colour blindness. In 2004, Harbisson and Adam Montandon developed the eyeborg, a device that translates colours into sounds. Harbisson has been claimed to be the first recognized cyborg in the world, as his passport photo now includes his device. In 2010, Neil Harbisson and Moon Ribas created the Cyborg Foundation, an international organization to help humans become cyborgs. The foundation has also experimented with other sensory devices, including an “earborg,” which translates sound into color, and a “speedborg,” which allows people to detect movement through electronic earrings that vibrate.
