I just wanted to share a little something today mildly related to XLOV but mostly just how theyāve influenced the way I dress and how I feel about my appearance as a whole :P :3
One of my friends said that my fit looked masc today as I was leaving to get to one of my classes and another said that, after I showed her the earrings I was wearing, that I looked feminine.
This is the most gender euphoria I have ever experienced purely based entirely off of compliments and not my own, harsher judgement and as someone who is afab and identifies as a he/they agender being, those few terms meant everything to me. Like, I was truly filled with joy and whimsy the rest of the day and happy about my appearance.
But the crazier thing I feel like, was the fact that even after the school day ended and I was at home, my first thought seeing my reflection in the mirror was of Rui just out of nowhere. Mind you, I do not look like any of the XLOV members at all. Actually, the closest I look like would maybe be Hyun but thatās because theyāre tan and Iām, well, also tan.
The fact that my own reflection reminded me of a person I have never met face to face and is so much different from me yet couldnāt care less about how others see the way they dress, I guess you could say, opened my eyes? Iām aware that clothes donāt inherently have a gender tied to them; people can, will, and should be able to dress however they want without being told otherwise, but this is the first time Iāve ever genuinely felt that āboy/girl clothesā label disappear for me personally.
A few years ago, I completely rejected femininity in the sense that I would put an effort into not dressing ātoo girlyā but enough so that my family wouldnāt be able to tell my identity as a trans person. But after discovering XLOV, seeing the type of people they are, and being able to witness their pure confidence and the way they effortlessly break gender norms just by existing, Iāve noticed that I donāt feel as immediately disgusted by dressing feminine in the way that society labels things.
The fit (one of my schoolās speech & debate shirts, cargo pants) + accessories (earrings are the ones that got complimented, first four bracelets are from my girlfriend, the second six are from one of my bestest friends ever)
Do I just kill off Jimmy or do I pick the top 3-4? (That would apply to names only bc the second highest option is āALL OF THEM >:3ā) (unless I choose that second most/voted optionā¦)
