The Alchemist Matter kit by Laurence Humier.
Laurence Humier is a Belgian engineer, working as an industrial designer in Milan. She debuted at an international level when one of her creations - Meeting Chairs - was included in the MoMA permanent collection in New York and in the Vitra Design Museum.
She has conducted research on Do-It-Yourself materials with chemists. Over the last two years, she has held workshops in different museums including CitĂ© des Sciences et de lâIndustrie in Paris, Maker Faire in Rome and New York, and the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York.
Following these workshopâs experiences, she is launching a campaign on Kickstarter to manufacture The Alchemist Matter kit, an educational toolkit to give shape to your ideas, create a single material capable of floating in water or sinking like the Titanic, and to invent materials with erasing properties!
The Alchemist Matter full kit is composed of three modular test-tube racks, with containers filled with different raw materials, and a manual that guides you though a gradual learning process. You can choose one of three Alchemist Matter experiments: âDrop of Inkâ, âSink or Floatâ, or âStop the Spotâ.
For further information visit the Kickstarter page and watch the video.
Share and support the Alchemist Matterâs campaign. Get a kit to create DIY matter through physicochemical phenomena. Follow @humier on Twitter.
