BTS Performs “Dynamite” | 2020 Video Music Awards

I think part of the problem can be seen in the postgame interview involving Jason Dickinson, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin last night. Tyler and Jason were asked repeatedly about the boycott and the Black Lives Matter movement, Jamie was asked about it twice. Most of his questions were about the game. Once he let Jason answer and the second time he answered himself but only because the question was directly asked to him and not one of the other guys.

Ask the questions to the players who have done nothing. The weight of the issue in the NHL shouldn’t fall solely on the shoulders of Matt Dumba, Evander Kane and the few white players who have spoken up. Make the white players uncomfortable and ask them the uncomfortable questions. We won’t see change while the media are only asking to hard questions to a minority of players.

BTS has just made Spotify history with their latest single! On August 21, BTS made their highly-anticipated return with their new single “Dynamite,” which immediately soared to the top of iTunes charts all over the world—and began smashing record after record on YouTube with its music video. The song has now set a new record on Spotify as well: “Dynamite” debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart for August 21 after racking up an impressive 7,778,950 streams on its first day—breaking the previous record set by Taylor’s Swift’s “Cardigan” (7.742 million streams) to become the biggest Spotify debut of 2020. Additionally, not only does this latest achievement mark BTS’s first No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50, but it also makes “Dynamite” the first song by any Korean artist ever to debut at No. 1 on the chart.
