Here’s a random headcanon from big brained anon. Grian wears zipper shoes because his parents never taught him how to tie them. He also grew up in a rich family so his servants would just tie his shoes for him. He ever told anyone because he was embarrassed and no one found out till Taurtis bought him some new shoes as a gift, since his were starting to fall apart. Grian had to tell Taurtis and Taurtis spent the rest of the day teaching him. Someone else has probably thought of this before but still felt like sharing.
