One of my favourite things about flight rising is how many unique and special dragon lore there is? Like it's so creative, every clan has a handful of dragons that are like "this dragon is haunted by ghosts" or "this dragon is three miths in a trenchcoat" or "this dragon is a chosen one who has saved many clans from disaster." Like I love it??? Everyone is just vibing, interpreting site lore however they want and discarding parts they don't and everyone is like "this is the most special dragon they have magical special powers" and is just having a blast? And it makes me so happy because everyone is getting to express themselves however they want and no one is shitting on them for it?

Also, it creates this hilarious scenario I love to think about every once in a while of like a dnd-seque party traveling through a standard clan, and telling their tales of woe and awe, and they'll be like "I was once caught in a forest fire, but instead of killing me the fires now live within me and I burn with a fire 100x stronger than any fireborn dragon." And the locals will be like "oh hey, that sounds like Steve! He's a farmer on the edge of town!" Or like "I am a runaway princess, forced to flee my home because my parents were murdered by tyrant traitors and I hope to one day reclaim what was lost" and the locals will be like "oh! You want help with that? We have a book club for heirs of usurped Royals!"

Like, the frequency of the unique and mundane mixed together makes for such a beautiful culture, and no idea feels overdone or cringey regardless of how many clans tell the same story, because they all have the same flavour to it and everyone understands we're all just messing around with our OCs anyways and all these stories are encouraged rather than spurned, and that's so rare to find on the internet where so many people are attacked for simply being passionate about something or creating something for themselves rather than an audience.

@flightrising Please put flair on obelisks back!! The mane was the best part :( I think most of us thought it was an aspect unique to obelisks, like Tundras with lionfish and other genes.

BEFORE ANYONE IS TOO HASTY:

I would NOT change your Obelisk’s Flair to another gene immediately.

Staff changed back Tundra and SD Butterfly after mass reaction from the community, so there is a chance that if we cause enough ruckass, it could be… unfixed.

I wouldn’t change genes until we can get proper confirmation that they won’t be changing them or until its been like, awhile.
