You have been harboring a crush for your big brotherโs best friend since you were in high school. He was an always over spending the night even on school nights.
You used to hide by the top of the staircase and wait for him to walk through the door while Jay watched you with an unimpressed expression. But he kept your secret, mainly because itโs be awkward if Jungwon knew about it.
So thatโs what you did.
You hid your feelings for him and eventually, you fell out of love with him. Allegedly.
So you grew out of your โjungwon phaseโ (which is what Sunoo called it) and went to college and moved into the dorms.
Unfortunately for you, youโve have had the worst luck with boyfriends lately. Some of them were nice, some were not.
You were just getting over this very twrrible and awkward break up you had with your ex boyfriend, Jake.
You had been crying all week about it, barely getting out of bed unless it was for classes and hadnโt been answering your phone, which actually explains why it was ringing right now.
Sunoo was currently calling you, which was rare for someone who only called if it was urgent or if he felt like it.
You reluctantly accepted his FaceTime call, and immediately was met with his amused laughter and extremely weak poker face.
โY/N,โ Sunoo exclaimed between laughter which made you regret answering his call.
โAre you- Iโm sorry, are you crying pver Jake!?โ He laughed harder. His voice loud and disruptive. It was morning, you thought as you glanced at the time on your phone.
You stared at the three big numbers on your screen in disbelief. How did you sleep in so late?
โY/N? Are you even listening to me?โ Sunooโs voice intersects your train of thought.
โHuh? Yeah, what? What is it? You muttered, staring at your somewhat sorry expression in the camera on your phone.
Sunoo seemed to be as well, his expression a mix of concern and disappointment.
โYou look terrible oh my God Y/N.. you probably smell like shit,โ He said, laughing at you again for the nth time.
โWhat do you want?โ You groaned.
โOkay, I just wanted to ask if you could come with me to the mall so we could go shopping,โ Sunoo rolled his eyes.
โIโm broke,โ You sighed.
โOkay.. Iโll pay for you,โ Sunoo scoffed, โNow go take a long shower and soak off all of that funk, and meet me in the parking lot in thirty. Alright?โ Sunoo said, still snickering at his lame joke.
โYeah yeah,โ You sighed and hung up.
Once you were ready, you left your dorm and walked to the parking lot where Sunoo was waiting for you there.
โFinally,โ Sunoo said with a grin, grabbing your hand dragging you to his car. โYou need to get your mind off of your pathetic ex. Only thing he was good for was killing a spider,โ Sunoo said as you both got in his car.
โWhich checks out since he used to live in Australia,โ Sunoo rolled his eyes at the thought of Sunoo and started the car.
You laughed, the most genuine one it a while.
โAlso, doesnโt your brother live near the mall?โ Sunoo asked.
You frowned, not liking where the conversation was turning. โYouโre gonna bring up Jungwon, arenโt you?โ You sighed.
โJust a suggestion,โ He gave a tiny grin again as he pulled out of your collegeโs parking lot.
โIโm over that era of my life,โ The words barely left your mouth before Sunoo giggled, causing you to pause and glare at him.
โIโm serious,โ You pouted. Youโd always hated jow Sunoo could read you like a book. He knew you would never get over Jungwon.
โYeah and Jake was a good boyfriend,โ He replied as he crossed lanes.
โCan you quit it..?โ You groaned.
โYou started it,โ He replied.
โWhen I bring him up I can see the way your eyes stop focusing for just a moment to think about him, and itโs pathetic.โ
โWell.. so what? I can have a crush,โ You gave up, letting out a huff.
โI didnโt say that. I just said stop pretending you werent my imagining his face instead of Jakeโs,โ He glanced at you and you nudged him with your elbow.
โI did not,โ You scoffed, getting defensive.
โBaby yes you did,โ He laughed. โI bet you even said his name instead of Jakeโs.โ
โYouโre so childish,โ You sighed.
โAnd youโre full of shit for telling Jake you were over Jungwon,โ Sunoo said.
โCan you stop it?โ You said with a sigh. โWhy are we even bringing up Jungwon?โ You scoffed, trying to push away the feeling in your chest.
โBecause.. we could go to your brotherโs house.. and.. say we wanted to see him and if we go see your brother weโre gonna have to see Jungwon since theyโre roommates,โ Sunoo hummed.
โYou really came up with this, didnโt you?โ You asked, not able to hide the grin that was forming on your lips.
โYouโve been in love with this dude for years Y/N,โ Sunoo rolled his eyes. โWhat kind of friend would I be if I didnโt at least try to set you up with your dream guy?โ
โWell,โ Sunoo chuckled. โFigure it out,โ He looked at you with a shrug as he parked the car outside the mall.
You smiled, finally letting it show.
โWhat would I even do? Just flirt? He probably still sees me as the little girl who hid from him when he spent the night at our parentโs house,โ You sighed.
You rolled your eyes and got out of the car, staring at the huge mall.
You decided to text your brother about stopping by.
โJay. Are you home? Iโm nearby and i was planning on stopping by,โ Your text read.
Just as you clicked send, Sunoo spoke up. โLetโs try to get something thatโs.. actually cute instead of just your average jeans and sweaters that you buy.โ

You and Sunoo walked around the mall, looking at different stores. However, you were barely paying attention.
You kept seeing things that Jake would like, which made your heart skip a beat before it plunged into icy cold water.

Your phone buzzed loudly in your jean pocket while you were currently mid-bite into your burger when your phone suddenly started buzzing. It was Jay, which was weird since he never really called let alone FaceTimed.
Sunoo raised an eyebrow but nodded at you, so you accepted it.
Instead of seeing your brotherโs face, you saw a face you knew all too well. Your expression quickly fell as you quickly identified the person on your phone screen was not Jay, but Jungwon.
Your eyes widened immediately before just staring at the phone like it was something strictly out of this world.
Sunoo snickered a little at how tense you suddenly got.
You had burger sauce on the cheek and on your lip, along with ketchup on your teeth.
In other words, you looked a mess.
Jungwon stared at your face for a moment before cracking a smile, โYouโve got a little.. on your cheek there.โ
You immediately set down your phone, looking at Sunoo for help but he was just laughing at you.
You quickly fixed yourself up, and Jungwon wasnโt on the screen anymore and it was the ceiling fan. The one you recognized all too well. Jayโs room.
โHey, whereโs Jay? Did he get my text?โ You asked Jungwon but got no answer. He mustโve left the room.
โThis fuckinโ guy bro,โ You muttered under your breath before hearing the door open.
โWhoโs that? Y/N?โ Another familiar voice rang out before an even more familiar face appeared in the screen. It was your brother, Jay.
โJay, Oh my God. Why did Jungwon pick up the phone?โ You sighed, already feeling embarrassed.
โWeโre roommates, itโs bound to happen eventually,โ Jay chuckled as he looked at your for a on his phone screen.
โWhereโs Sunoo? I know you donโt go anywhere without him,โ Jay asked.
You panned the phone to Sunoo who was already posing, โHi.โ
โHey,โ Jay rolled his eyes at Sunoo before you panned the camera back towards yourself. โSo you got my text? About us coming by?โ You asked.
โMhm. I didnโt reply because Jungwon was on my phone. Iโm guessing then he just called you,โ Jay said as he stared.
โWe are getting ready to go out for a party on a bit, so you wonโt be able to stay by for long. Unless if you wanna come. Even thought youโre not over Jake.. or whatever his name was?โ Jay said.
Just then, coincidentally, Jungwon walked in, โWait, Y/N and Jake broke up?โ
You felt a pang of hurt at the thought, but also curiosity rose in your chest as you wondered why Jungwon was asking.
โWe did,โ You nodded. Your voice sounding clearer than it normally did.
Jungwon peeked into the camera next to Jay, his eyebrow raised. โSo too can finally go out to parties now?โ
You paused before answering, โSure..โ
โSo youโll come to this one tonight with us, right?โ Jungwon asked.
You glanced at Sunoo, who was nudging your knee. His wife eyes were obviously gesturing you to say yes. So you did.
โYeah, I can,โ You said, sounding unsure.
โY/N, are you sure-โ Jay began to ask before Jungwon cut him off, โGood!โ He gave a smile.
Jay then sighed, โAlright. Text me when youโre on the way to ours.โ
You nodded and hung up the phone and was quickly hit by Sunoo. โY/N, he just fucking asked you to go to a party,โ He laughed.
You rubbed your temples, โWhat do I even do? I go, and what? Look dumb?โ You sighed.
โYou flirt with the guy youโve been dreaming about since you were like fifteen,โ Sunoo raised an eyebrow.
โI donโt wanna screw this up. If I mess this up then I truly have nothing,โ You explained, looking exasperated

โI know you still love Jake, but you should see your face whenever Jungwon is even mentioned. Itโs like a dog excited for their owner,โ Sunoo snickered and drank his smoothie.

So there you were In your brother room, applying makeup carefully while Sunoo sat beside you.
Everybody was done except for you. You currently were cladded in a simple black dress and your hair was down.
Just as you finished your last step, the door burst open. You snapped your neck towards the noise out of instinct and saw Jungwon. โWhatโs taking you so long?โ He raised an eyebrow, but his playful gaze faltered for a moment when his eyes landed on you.
Your eyes met, and stayed. His gaze held yours almost like an embrace.
Sunoo stared at you both, then coughed loudly on purpose to bring you both back down to earth. โSheโs done,โ He said as you both say up.
โTook you long enough,โ Jungwon said, a teasing grin gracing his lips, but his gaze still lingered on you before walking out the room first.
Sunoo immediately stared at you, but you just swallowed and walked out, ke ready for Sunooโs relentless chatter and laughter directed towards you.
He quickly followed after you to the front door, thanking Jay for opening the door and locking it.
You walked towards Jayโs car, planning to sit in the front seat but Sunoo beat you to it with a teasing glance.
He gestured to the backseat while looking at you, eye filled with meaning.
โGo sit with Jungwon,โ Sunoo whispered before hopping in the passenger seat.
Before you could even fight, both Jay and Jungwon walked up behind you. โOh, Sunoo called shotgun this time?โ Jay raised an eyebrow.
You swallowed hard and sat in the backseat without a word, ignoring Jayโs scrutinizing gaze.
Jungwon glanced at Jay almost as if asking for his approval before moving to the other side of the car and sitting in back with you.
Jay sat in the driverโs seat, looking at Sunoo with a knowing glance, and Sunoo just laughed in response.
You were extremely stiff as you sat in the backseat with Jungwon, who was engaging in conversation with Jay.
You took this calm before the storm to look at the scenery outside the window.
The pretty city lights illuminated the dark night. Just like the nights where you and Jake used to drive around with Layla in the back seat, her head outside the window as passerbys calling her adorable.
You used to look forward to those days where Jake would surprise you by showing up to your apartment with Layla and his keys with a look of excitement on his face, and you couldnโt help but smile back.
Back when he used to genuinely love and adore you and your shared relationship.
You tried to ignore the way your stomach fell into a pit. You could feel your eyes burning with tears as you stared out the window.
You were supposed to spend tonight get over him, but he was all that occupied your brain at night when it was quiet and you were alone.
You were so deep in thought you didnโt even hear Jungwon calling your name until he shook you by your shoulders.
โHey, Y/N. Are you okay?โ Jungwon asked, looking confused.
You quickly shook your head and mumbled something vague about being lost in thought before opening your car door and closing it.
Sunoo was waiting for you by the entrance while Jungwon walked with you into the party.
He could sense something was up so he left you and Sunoo alone and went to find Jay who was already chatting with a girl.
You on the other hand, weโre trying to convict r yourself and Sunoo that you were perfectly fine and not reminiscing the person you used to be, which wasnโt working.
You and Sunoo eventually go inside and you instantly head over to the drinks with Sunoo reluctantly following you.
You drink enough to feel buzzed and the thoughts of Jake pause temporarily.
Sunoo didnโt drink anything crazy, just grabbed a beer and took a few swigs every now and then. He was careful with his intake since heโs unfortunately a lightweight.
After sipping drinks and talking, Sunoo interrupts the conversation.
โI need to use the bathroom. Iโll be right back,โ Sunoo said. โIf you go somewhere at least text me first, okay?โ He added.
You nodded and kept yourself planted there like a tree. You began thinking of memories you had with Jake, causing you to down the rest of your drink.
It burned on the way down but the burn was nothing compared to the hollowness in your heart.
Just as you began to catch your breath, you heard a voice you wish you didnโt remember or dream of when the night got too silent.
โY/N?โ The voice called out, making you freeze.
Jake walked over, his expression one of surprise. โDidnโt expect you to be at. party already. Itโs only been two weeks since we broke up,โ He gave a sly smirk, but there was an ounce of anger in his expression.
You sat there still as an inanimate object but your heart was racing.
โNothing to say?โ He raised an eyebrow.
Your eyes filled with tears, ones of anger and sadness. You couldnโt believe he didnโt even care about the breakup while you were struggling to get out of bed.
Just then, a girl walked over to him. She looked nothing like you and you couldnโt tell if that made you glad or not.
โJake, is this your annoying ex you mentioned?โ The girl asked, giving a mocking smile.
Wow, okay. You thought as you rolled your eyes hard. He already had another girl which shouldnโt even surprise you but it still landed a blow.
โYou really know how to ruin my day donโt you?โ You asked, pouring alcohol than you needed at all.
The sight made Jakeโs lips curl into a smirk. He was glad to see he still bothered you and that you still thought of him, positively or not.
Just then, he moved excruciatingly slow as he faced towards his new girlfriend and pressed his lips against hers. Slow and steady, as if it were by nature.
You couldnโt help but sniffle a little. You were just starting to attempt to heal the wounds Jake beautifully delivered to your heart and mind, but that was brutally crushed.
Who did he think he was? You thought to yourself as you began to walk away, but you were plants there. Just watching them kiss, your heart breaking the longer it went on.
Eventually their lips departed in an unhurried fashion that made you clench your fists.
Jake leaned into the girlโs ear, whispering something that made her cheeks flush red and giggle. She nodded sheepishly and walked away.
Jake watched her leave like she hung the stars before his gaze coldly swept on you. His eyes were distant and calculating, as if you were a stranger.
He stepped towards, getting close into your personal space. He smelled good as hell, which made you even more upset. He saw the way your face shifted slightly from anger to hurt, which made him more confident.
He approached you, getting close to your face. You were shaking slightly with rage. You were so upset he still had control of your emotions like this. So mad that even now you hoped even a little, that things could go back to how they were.
Tears began to fall as Jake smirked at your pathetic state.
He wiped your tears and cupped your cheek, โY/N.. itโs okay. Iโve got you,โ He almost cooed. It couldโve been a coo if he wasnโt looking at you with a an expression that wasnโt predatory.
But a part of just wanted to lean into his embrace. You just wanted some kind of comfort.
Jake then grabbed your wrist, pulling you closer. You began to snap out of your daze and realize what he was doing and quickly attempted to pull away, but he held on tighter.
โY/N, you know you still love me. Donโt you?โ He asked, his voice almost sweet. The same voice you used to beg him to use. His grip was tight despite his sweet words.
โJake what the fuck, let me go!โ You yelled, but it wasnโt as loud thanks to the loud speakers drowning out your voice.
He ignored your yelling and pulled closer, trying to hold you.
You fought with your might but he was stronger than you and you were starting to get tired. The alcohol in your system slowing your movements by a tenfold.
Out of no where, you felt Jake loosen his grip.
You the chance to back away but lost your balance. Instead of meeting the cold floor, you seemed to be getting acquainted with a warm chest.
You looked up and saw Jungwon. He had his arm around your shoulder and held you against his chest. โI leave for one second and all hell breaks loose,โ Jungwon said.
You were confused, then realized he was acting like he was with you.
You quickly wiped your tears and hid your face in Jungwonโs neck. The scent was nothing like Jakeโs. Clearer, less addicting, and more calming.
Jake raised an eyebrow, trying to identify who Jungwon was before his face immediately darkened.
โY/N? Is this..? I know this isnโt that damn guy you..โ Jake asked, his voice growing in volume. โWow. So you were lying huh? I knew it,โ Jake said, his fists clenching.
Jungwonโs hand fell from your shoulder to your waist as he brought you closer to him.
โJake, was it?โ Jungwon asked.
Jake rolled his eyes, โYou told me not to worry about this asshole. You said you had no feelings for him anymore and that it was just a phase.โ Jakr laughed bitterly. For someone who cheated, he looked awfully hurt.
Jungwonโs expression slipped before he fixed it before Jake could notice, โI think you have a lady to attend to. Worry about yours and Iโll worry about mine, alright?โ Jungwon said sternly.
Jake turned red with anger and stormed off towards his girlfriend.
You were shaking in Jungwonโs arms. You hated how pathetic you were. You even had your feelings exposed to Jungwon at the worst time.
You couldnโt help but cry again at how much of a disaster this was.
Jungwon pulled away slightly and cupped your face, his eyes deeper than they ever looked. โHey, are you okay? Tell me what you need,โ she said, his voice gentle as he wiped your tears.
His kind gesture only made you cry more, but he wiped away your fresh tears as well.
โI just.. I wanna be alone,โ You cried.
Jungwon said no more, just held your hand, making your breath hitch.
It didnโt go unnoticed by him, but he didnโt bring it up and you thanked him for it internally as you gripped his hand hard.
He found an empty room and closed the door behind you both.
You sat on the random bed and wiped your tears and blew your nose with the random box of tissues on the nightstand.
As you discarded the used tissues in the trash can next to the nightstand, you noticed Jungwonโs gaze on you.
You realized that you probably looked insane with your smudged makeup and sighed.
Jungwon gave a small smile, โY/N. Are you alright?โ He asked again. At this point, you had no clue. You just wanted the night to be over and you could go home and cry.
You didnโt answer, just stared at your heels.
Jungwon didnโt push, just stared at you before looking at your shoes as well.
โWhat did Jake mean when he said you didnโt have feelings for me anymore?โ Jungwon asked, and your heart stopped.
โItโs nothing,โ You muttered.
Jungwon didnโt buy it. Not the way you hid your face from him and the way you played with the blanket on the random bed you both were sitting on.
โThatโs not the focus right now.. I just need a minute,โ You said but you regretted how harsh it came off.
โYouโre right. Iโm sorry,โ Jungwon stood up, getting ready to leave.
Your hand shot out before you could stop it and you grabbed Jungwonโs shirt, making him go stiff. You immediately wanted to pull back but you already too deep in.
โDonโt leave,โ You muttered. โYou canโt just leave. Not when Iโm like this,โ You said.
Jungwon quietly sat back down on the bed, โWhat do you want me to do Y/N?โ He asked, his voice filled with emotion youโve never heard it carry.
โStay,โ You said quietly.
He looked at you, looked into your tear-filled eyes. His heart breaking for his best friendโs little sister.
You were his best friendโs little sister. Who Jay told him to look after if something ever happened to you and Jay couldnโt reach you.

You let out a soft sigh against Jungwonโs lips as you kissed him back. Your right hand reached out and held the side of his neck, your thumb rubbing and feeling the soft and thin skin there.
His left hand cupped the side of your face, kissing you tenderly.
You let out a soft sigh as Jungwon deepened the kiss. Hit bottom lip flicking out and licking yours as if asking for your approval.

You let out a loud sigh as your body shivered. You werenโt used to this at all.

He places his right hand behind your neck, right on your nape and brings himself closer to you. His face in your neck.
His left hand was resting on your right thigh, not moving, just there to ground you.
Your heart was beating so loud in your chest you werenโt used to sure Jungwon could hear it. You couldnโt believe what you were doing.
Your left hand was on the strange bed, holding you up while your right hand got tangled in Jungwonโs blond hair.
His tongue ran along your tongue before he placed more kisses over it.
Your head was spinning and you didnโt even care.
You were so wrapped up in the moment you didnโt even realize the door was open and Sunoo was standing in the doorway.
You immediately sat up straighter and tapped Jungwonโs shoulder and he pulled away, staring back at Sunoo in shock and slight horror.
Right. You were supposed to text Sunoo if you were somewhere else and you did not.
Sunooโs eyes were wide before he cleared his throat and spoke, his face one of also panic and concern as he spoke.
โGuys.. Jay.. he,โ Sunoo stammered out.
Your heart dropped. You forgot about Jay. You havenโt even seen him since everyone entered the house.
You and Jungwon both sat up, looking terrified.
โWhat? Spit it out, what happened?โ Jungwon asked, his eyes wide as he grabbed Sunoo by the shoulders.
Sunoo swallowed hard and held Jungwon back. โHe.. he fought Jake downstairs. Jake is fucking bloody.. I think someone called the police,โ He stammered out.
Time seemed to freeze until you realized what the fuck Sunoo had just said.
โHe did what?โ You asked, pushing past Sunoo and Jungwon to run downstairs and they both followed you down.
A crowd had formed downstairs as people watched in horror as Jay sat over Jakeโs slumped body on the ground, blood all over his face.
You ran in and pulled Jay off. His eyes were wild and filled with anger and disgust.
People began murmuring as you dragged Jay out, long back at Jake um horror.
Everybody quickly ran to the car, and prepared to drive off. Jayโs knuckles were split open and bloody, Sunoo was galen up in the passenger seat, and you and Jungwon were also pretty shaken up.
The car ride was silent except for Jay heavy breathing.
Once you all made it to Jay and Jakeโs house, Jay locked the door after everybody and tooo a deep breath.
โJay.. why did you do that?โ You asked, concern written all over your face as you stared at Jayโs knuckles.
Tears filled in your eyes again. You hated whenever Jay fought your battles for you, especially without asking.
โWhat did you say to that bastard.. that had him so angry?โ Jay asked you, ignoring your question.
You froze and thought about last night, nothing in particular came up. Unless it was about Jungwon? But that wouldnโt make any sense since you two were broken up.
โI-I donโt know.. itโs Jake, okay? Heโs stupid.. he does stupid shit,โ You muttered.
โHe wonโt be doing any more stupid shit after tonight,โ Jay replied which made you only more worried.
โJay you canโt just fucking kill somebody on broad daylight!โ You yelled, your voice filled with horror and fear.

Jay didnโt speak for a moment and since filled the room, which only intensified the feeling of dread in your gut.
โJay, talk to me, please!โ You yelled, your hands shaking as you tried to process this wreck of a night.

You cried more and Sunoo came over and hugged you, patting your back like he always did when you cried for an actual valid cause.
Jay sat down and looked at his hands and then Sunoo pulled away to grab the bandages that Jay always kept for when he got into fights like this.
โY/N, Iโm sorry. Justโฆ go lay down, alright?โ Jay said to you as you were already halfway up the stairs. Jungwon follows you up and asked if you wanted to stay in his room and you agreed.
Sunoo was currently downstairs with Jay, attending to his wounds like a nurse.
Jungwon tried to cheer you up but.. it was obviously too much for you right now and he respected that and didnโt push.
He let you sleep on his bed and he sat at the end of the bed and stared at his own hands.
After an hour or so, Jay walked in the room. His eyes wide as they landed on Jungwon. He walked over and grabbed Jungwon. by his collar, โJungwon. What do you have with my sister?โ Jay asked.
Jungwon quickly put his hands up, โHey.. Jay sheโs sleep..!โ Jungwon whisper-shouted.
You were currently sound asleep in Jungwonโs bed, turning over in the cover to feel more of his soft mattress.
Jay let Jungwon go, but his eyes were still stern. โMy sisterโs not some girl you can just mess around with,โ Jay said seriously.
โJay,โ Jungwon said. โIโve loved her since we moved in here together and she came over to celebrate and she fell down the last three steps on the stairs and swore she had broken her ankle,โ Jungwon explained.
Jay made a face that was one of confusion and concern as he backed up.
โWhat? Why didnโt you tell me?โ Jay asked.
โBecause I thought she didnโt feel the same way. She barely let me and her be alone without you or Sunoo.โ Jungwon sighed.
โLook.. I know itโs terrible timing but.. I love her. And.. I heard through the grapevine yhe feeling is mutual.โ Jungwon said, trying to lift the moid.
Jay sighed and rubbed his temples, โJust donโt fuck up. Seriously.โ Jay wanted before walking out.
Jungwon let out. a sigh and left to go take a shower.
You however, werenโt asleep at all. You had woke up the moment Jay birdy through the door.
You sat up quickly and saw the both of them gone.
You didnโt even know what to think at this point. All you could do was groan and stare at the ceiling before dozing off.
Hopefully tomorrow would be better.
