I'm Hannah Flynn. Welcome to my tumblr CV. 

I was very excited to see an opportunity come up on Twitter to join the social media team at YO! Sushi. I'm a passionate advocate of YO! and actually won your Twitter competition to come and party with you on your 15th birthday. :)

I love all things Japanese, from the food to video games, films and manga. I've just returned from my first ever trip to Japan (it was my honeymoon). I've posted some of my Japan photos, videos and fun things I've found around the internet that make me think of YO!.

You'll also find some of my core principles of social media working, and lots of examples of content that I either worked on or commissioned in my previous roles at ChildLine, Tate and Penguin Children's Books.

I've been using twitter since about March 2008. I had the pleasure of trying to explain 'the point' of Twitter to quite a few authors while I worked at Penguin, including Charlie Higson, who now has a decent 50k followers and a bit of a love/hate relationship with it all. :)

I ran the online part of this projet for Tate, working with colleagues in learning, curatorial, marketing, PR and at other museums and galleries across the UK to create a discussion about British art online.

Nara Deer Police (by hanchan)

Nara is near Kyoto, and is famous for its park full of deer. They're almost tame. Frankly they're a little bit bitey... lots of things in Nara have a deer theme, so it really feels like they've taken over the place.

This is the last big project I was involved in at Tate, for the Alice in Wonderland show at Tate Liverpool. Wondermind is a suite of games and interactive conversations which brought to life concepts of developmental neuroscience through the art of Alice in Wonderland. We were nominated for Best Educational Resource at SXSW Interactive and Best Youth at the Webbys this year, where we were also honourees in the Games and Interactive Video categories.

Tate is often on 'Top Brand' lists, with good reason. Here's their writeup on Superbrands for 2012. The key to serving such a big follower list on any social platform is input from many departments. We always came up with the best ideas when we all got together around a table. :)

I've used lots of different social media management systems, all of which have their strengths. I favour a Google calendar for long-term planning and Hootsuite for posting to twitter (not so much for Facebook), as it will automatically append your Google Analytics codes to each tweet. I love stats and am working on a measure for success that takes into account follower churn and level of positive discussion. There's always another tool coming up, however!

Here's my newly-minted wife and I! We did a lot of our wedding organising online. And of course, we blogged it all on tumblr. :) One of my crowning moments of nerdy glory was taking an iPad to the hairdresser and explaining my wedding hair ideas through a Pinterest board. Champion!

Recently I've been responsible for redesigning and working on a new strategy for ChildLine's YouTube channel. I think it's looking pretty nice! We just reached a million video views thanks to a digital campaign to drive awareness of the service with older teens.
