I’m beyond grateful for the missed connections and the rerouted paths. With time, everything eventually made sense.

Doing an embroidery pie for 2023 (one slice per month type of project… not sure what to call it but I guess I’m calling it a pie now lol). Anyway, I was ruminating on Rupi Kaur’s poetry while working on the January slice. It’s my first time reading Kaur’s work and I did say I would venture out of my comfort zone. Ultimately, I’m afraid it’s not my cup of tea. Though I must say, even if you aren’t fond of her work there’s no denying that she writes with a risk-it-all type of bravery. And now that I think about it, I suppose reckless emotion is what makes one a poet.
