Not exactly a new one, but I don't want my blog to accumulate too much dust before I finish that damn comic (the sketch I did for the second-to-last picture was so bad I had to redo it all over) My thoughts for this one were "if I were to do a cover for a Fates fanfic wattpad-style over Corrin having knowledge of everything bc Lilith told him, and she had more protagonism, what would it be?" and here it is I got inspired by "Fire Emblem Fates, a Time Traveling Comedy: Birthright Edition - by WhiteDraga" in Ao3

Pinche pelicula preciosa AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Just saw the Avatar Aang movie, and holy shit it was beautiful from start to finish.
Had to pirate it, as I do not have paramount, and it's not on the theaters of my country, but FUCK if it would be 100% worth it to see it on the big screen
Aang looks as soft (and now very handsome) than ever, Katara is beautiful as always, Toph is buffed (está mamadisima loco), Zuko is even more handsome and Zokka charming by default.
Sad that Zuki was not allowed to acompany them, but it would then be too much people to manage on screen. Although it would have been great to see her jump in in the final battle to help defend Republic City instead of a cameo, I'll guess that she was during that time in the Fire Nation.
AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE ANIMATION BECAUSE I'LL HAVE A STROKE LIKE THE HARDCORE FAN THAT FAINTS WITH FOAM IN HIS MOUTH

Listen to the songs below! Which one is your favorite?
Lost in Thoughts All Alone (Fates)
The Edge of Dawn (3H)
If you're enjoying the tournament, reblog so we can get more votes! Maybe even add some propaganda for your choice?
Man, I want to draw more (i was in the middle of doing a comic and an extra drawing), but since basically the start of the month I've been like this:
help :(
Various dragon characters and how they'd react to being asked how old they are
Cethleen/Flayn: Canonically the most suspicious "Im the same age as everyone else" poor girl cannot lie
Cichol/Seteth and Seiros/Rhea: calculated false identity has an age, but will be honest if they know you know
Tiki: Canonically drops it mid complaint, I headcanon her birth is when the calendar starts so she just checks the year
Nowi: Canonically lost count over 1000, will tell you that
Nah: "older than you, if you'd believe it"
Morgan: "I forgot and started counting again"
Corrin: "good question! How old are you? Let's go with that."
Lilith: "is that something im supposed to know?"
Myrrh: "..... yeah"
Fae: "I don't have that many fingers"
Alear: gets an existential crisis
Veyle: "it's kinda hard for me to keep track... somewhere around"
.
NGL Saizo being so harsh on Asugi, while not necessarily justified, makes a lot of sense considering his own relationship with his dad, and I'm honestly surprised it isn't spelled out anywhere.
Saizo (and Kaze)'s dad was killed by Kotaro at least a few years prior to the game. With that, Saizo suddenly became head of the family and the representative of the Saizo line, in addition to his duties to Ryoma. Not to mention his own investigation into Mokushu, which led to his revenge which led to the loss of his eye. And as per his and Kaze's support, he didn't share his troubles with anyone else, not even his brother, and had been dwelling on his own shame for a long time.
Fanon tends to place Saizo the 4th's death around when our Saizo and Kaze were teenagers. Which means, essentially, Saizo suddenly had a lot of responsibility and trauma put onto him as a teenager, and as the eldest son, and presumably had a lot to live up to. Depending on how young he was, he might not have been ready to take on that role, and from there on out he had to figure things out on his own, without any guidance from his dad. And also his own issues he is very terrible at dealing with.
Saizo the 4th died in a relatively peaceful time compared to the timeframe of Fates, i.e. full-on wartime. Compared to his dad, our Saizo lives, and has his son, in much more dangerous times, especially considering the family business and specifically his duty to protect the king. He could, and is prepared to die any day. But he has a son who (in his mind, to not let his ancestors down) will be the next Saizo.
So Saizo feels the need to train his son for the role, even if it means pushing him insanely hard, to make sure that Asugi will be more prepared than him to take on the same weight and duties that he once had to, when he himself dies while his own son is still a teenager.
Implicitly, Saizo also looks up to his dad a lot, which adds to his pressure to live up to the Saizo name. And then consider that Kaze, in comparison, pretty much never brings up their dad outside of his conversations with Saizo.
For all that their dad was respected / loved / whatever by one son, the other doesn't really seem to think about him. There are a lot of reasons why this could be, but Saizo Sr. probably wasn't close with Kaze to begin with, likely since Kaze wasn't the heir. Not to mention, Kaze and Saizo began their training at a very young age as well, which is why they're so skilled at their work.
Which is to say, Saizo Sr. might not have been the best dad either, and Saizo is using him as a reference because he respects him, and there aren't exactly any other fathers around to teach him how to parent. In short: generational trauma!
And as for why Kaze and Midori aren't like that? Mostly because Kaze wasn't heir, didn't have any of these burdens, and is far enough removed from the situation to see how placing such pressure on someone so young hurt his brother, if not just himself. He would rather not hurt his own daughter in the same way, especially since he doesn't have to. So Midori is free to not be a ninja, and pursues her own interests instead, and is very close to her dad.
However, a huge part of Midori's character is that she's very capable despite her age, is still working in a field that allows her to be relatively self-sufficient, and her dad was the one who taught her. Kaze is also preparing his daughter for the possibility of losing him early, so she can at least survive on her own when he dies. Which is a subtle similarity to how he himself was raised - even more generational trauma, but gentler at least? Kaze probably doesn't know how else to raise a kid either, but he's trying to be different from his father and brother at least.
TL:DR Saizo's relationship with Asugi is the way it is because of literal fatherless behaviour, and so is Kaze's with Midori to a certain, less messed-up extent.

Probably something that someone may have pointed out already years before me, buuuuuut....
Recently saw Nausica of the Valley of the Wind and MAN, I could see so many tiny concepts re-used for Princess Mononoke. Two sides at war with one another (Torumekia vs basically everyone and especially Pejitei/Iron Town vs the forest) One is led by a strong female leader that goes around with modern weapons and has beef with the female protagonist (everyone basically does, but Kushana reminds me a lot of Eboshi) Balance of life and nature (insects this time) trying to "cleanse" the world from human contamination The main protagonist (Ashitaka/Nausica) is completely neutral to that conflict. Although Nausica is way more bubbly than Ashitaka and even impulsive, and just wants to make amends with the insects and save her people. I love both. The stampide of creatures that goes directly against a place full of people (the boars and Ohmus) What calms down the conflict is returning something to the nature (Ashitaka and San return the head to that horrifying-looking God of life/Nausica sacrifices herself to return the baby Ohmu safely) They are so similar and different at the same time, but the similarities stand out for me! In the end, I prefer Nausica over Princess Mononoke. I saw PM first months ago, and although it was fine and I understood what it tried to tell (I think. I could always be wrong or understand only on superficial level), it didn't stick out that much for me as Nausica did.
The world was so fascinating even though I kept saying "Ew" everytime a bug appeared, I laughed at how Nausica was all over the place and how determined she was to accomplish what she wanted, I recognized the meme, I saved in my playlist that "Lalala" song, snorted at the weird music that the movie had and how the Warrior God basically did shit, and felt happy at the end she had. And I especially LOVED seeing how Teto was basically inmortal. Together with Nausica to the end, and survives to everything that silly creature. The only thing I was left unsatisfied with, was that Nausica did not slap Kushana in the face before letting her go for being so stupid, basically what I also wanted to happen to Eboshi. (I like both characters, but damn if it did not enrage me to see them doing such stupid decisions, Eboshi specially) 👻 My top 3 Studio Ghibli movies are: 1. Spirited Away/El viaje de Chihiro GOD 2. Nausica of the Valley of the Wind/Nausica del Valle del Viento 3. Whispers of the Heart/Susurros del Corazón
I recently had a long dream (I don't remember most of it by now) that was basically like "rats vs mice". Visually it was kind of Disney-style/Don Bluth-style, for some reason
And the scene that stayed with me by how bizarre and cruel it was, was this one
Apparently the rats kidnapped baby mice and had them tied inside the sewers to that bridge. Miss Mouse there, I don't remember why she is running for her life, but the moment she stepped on the bridge and started raining outside, the baby mice were kicked out of the holes so that they would literally swim for their lives and keep the metal bridge afloat as the sewers were filled with water.
The dream ended with Miss Mouse reaching the end of the sewers to safety, and the rats making everything go BOOM! so... yeah, the baby mice died.
I don't even like mice or rats, but holy fuck, por qué soñé esto? 👻

Just began to learn how to do crochete, and I think I'm doing witchcraft instead of an ice cream cone 👻
Wow, a whole week to finish it, because procrastination and getting discouraged is my passion! But I managed to finish it, because I convinced myself that it looked like a real ice cream xd Right after finishing the pink ice cream and starting the cone, I realized that I did it on the opposite direction of the video I was following, and fucked up a little, so I did what I could to continue with the cone and now it's all wonky.
More like simple witchcraft, it was like trying to stabilize a spell that almost backfired on my face 👻 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB2JKzayN8E <- video que seguí
