The Clocktower
Mentioned in a couple of streams now and often dominating the backdrop of Emberlan, the Clocktower is definitely one of the more noticeable shops. While it does have a side entrance, the most common way to reach it is the warp plate in Emberlan's main shopping street. It is owned & run by Callum, and sells all kinds of enchanted goods, Nether materials and more!
Tomorrow on Yokai SMP
Don your suits, dresses, hats? Sure! We are putting on a wedding! Ace and Prokaryote are finally getting married. In a once-in-a-lifetime event, the last living penguin and a sentient cell colony are trying the knot. Take care not to miss it!! Now that time is moving again, we need to be a bit more wary of that. I hear rumours of streams starting around 3-4 pm est.
Note: BLOODY SKULLS are not appropriate wrong attire!
Enjoy the show!
Yesterday on YSMP - Callum's PoV
Callum starts this one straight in the wringer. He returns to Dreamburgh, after Eos messed with her for unknown amounts of time, to find Altair entering the Nightwatch.
The Nightwatch; one of the dream dimensions, mostly beholden to nightmares. The Nightwatch holds countless dangers to Phantoms, especially one as inexperienced as Altair!
It seems to go well, though. Altair speaks up again, summons Callum to his ship.... But is it really him? Everything seems unreal suddenly, dreamy... Something is strange here, and moreso than the Dreamscape is in itself.
It's fine. Altair is real. It's fine.
It's fine.
..
We can see Eos in Callum's head as he talks to Altair. Eos whispers to get, sowing doubt. Suggesting Altair might be lying. I mean, if Eos has ears throughout the Dreamscape, maybe he knows, maybe Eos is right--
It's FINE. Callum is fine. He and Altair are safe. And honest.
Except they aren't. Eos immediately drags Callum back in, talking about nightmares, showing him some that killed his colony. But its fine. They met again later, talking about powers and armies and why to have both. They agree Callum is taking lessons here. This is fine.
...
Anyway.
With Altair resting, Callum returns to Emberlan, and meets a similar cast of characters. The dead gang, consisting of Mercy, Rome and Via. The meeting is a bit.... Tense, at least at first. Miraculously, Callum managed to disperse that a bit! And this time when he gets whisked away, he even does so on purpose.
He gets to see the fabled Lostlight, and it looks... Lovely, actually! Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to live here...
Callum and Rome talk about existence, and souls, and the price of their respective predicament. They get to bond a little bit, but Rome can barely follow Callum back to the Overworld before she is dragged back to Lostlight.
Finally, Callum seeks out Lock to talk some things out. So Lock learns he was a dragon, and the audience learns born phantoms have a bit of a superiority complex.
Back at The Worm, Callum gets to unpack his backstory to Lock. How his colony tried to settle in the Nightwatch. How no one but him survived. Lock asks whose bright idea it was to settle there, and I have some ideas. Was it perhaps the Nightmare, acting like a phantom, who still frequents the Nightwatch and was the sole survivor? Hm.
They continue talking about their lives and past and the talk goes......
It goes. It's pretty heartwrenching actually. But I suppose it's good they talked it out.
They make some plans for the future, and Altair's children?? And part ways for the day.
Watch the PoV here <3
No context, only hampter space program!
Intro -- Who are you??
Well.
Here we go.
Good evening! Good timezone. We are so glad you have found your way here, and hope you enjoy your stay.
This is the official blog of the Yokai SMP, a folklore-fantasy minecraft server with all kinds of different creatures and planes. The SMP has just finished its first season, with a huge world-ending plot being foiled by some valorous players. Said players are still busy celebrating before the events of Season 2 kick off.
We are two Observers - creatures who merely watch the events, comment for your entertainment, and sometimes (if the time is right) get to interact with the Entities in this world.
Last time on YSMP - Astrophel's PoV
Hmm... So that's what it does.
Just like Altair's stream, Astrophel's starts with him losing his soul. From this PoV, we can see what those little squeezes Altair gave the soul did to Astrophel. I can see how that is unpleasant...
Astrophel indeed experiences a couple of effects on his way to find Vel, and upon finding his brother, he can confirm those aren't entirely illusory. Vel is not too pleased with Astrophel giving away his soul, of course! And Astro's plan to keep all this secret, especially from River, instantly fails too. Because one of the animals was in fact the leader of Gallus Nesting in disguise.
There is a confrontation with several entities in Gallus Nesting, but Astrophel escapes out to his secret lab. And nobody knows where that is.... Nobody except for Vel.
Astrophel's brother tracks him down and confronts him, more gently this time, but nevertheless. It turns out Astrophel doesn't think losing his soul s a big deal, not for now... And also turns out one of Alex' comments hit a bit close to home. During their talk, Altair gives the soul another couple of squeezes, and Astrophel gets to feel the issue with "being at his mercy" Vel just warned him about.
Astrophel returns to Gallus Nesting and finds River. The talk with Vel brought up uncomfortable memories of Astro's murder attempt on her, and he wants to know how she could forgive him. They don't reach any satisfying conclusions there, but agree to go on a date to unwind soon. Oooooooo~~
One last confrontation happens with Alex, in which he says Astro isn't the only one with a prior life, and he is not alone.... And Astrophel tells him to mind his own business. Basically. So we're ending on a tense note here it seems, with many things unresolved.
Watch the VoD here!
Oh dear. So those last few minutes were packed. Let me colect my thoughts-
Pan destroyed Fell? The world before?
What is a nightmare phantom? Is that the curse Callum said he carried?? Is that something else yet?
A dragon. Callum wants to phantomise a dragon. Is that even possible? And who is it?
Callum. Callum listen to me. Please don't destroy the Dreamscape, it feeds like half of our Entities.
Eugh.
Answers to come in Season 2, hopefully...
Until then, here is Callum's S1 finale that touched on all this.
Eos 🍄
Character Name: Eos (Or so you may call him) Species: Nightmare Phantom Pronouns: He/Him Homeland: Dreamscape Occupation: ... "Puppeteer" Favorite Thing: Bright blocks, string, weapons... other things.... Fun Fact: Far older then he acts. About: The Ex-Lover of previous Yokai SMP resident and Manor watch, Somnus. He's not often seen, his laughter is often heard but never remembered, for the best. You know, whatever helps you sleep, ever, so, sound-less at night. :)

Will Callum ever catch a break? First his entire colony is gone, now he lost Keeper too... (Not to be confused with The Keeper)
Want to see what I’m talking about? Here’s the VoD!
🌋 Gallus Nesting 🌋
So, we have seen more characters than expected claiming allegiance with Gallus Nesting. What's up with that?
Gallus Nesting has been on a drive for more residents for a while now! As far as four years back, during and after the end of the world, River Wheatflower advertised to new arrivals whether they want to live in Gallus Nesting.
The town started out as the seat of the Chicken Cult: a tight-knit group worshipping the Chicken Mother. It has since expanded and opened up, and you don't even have to worship the Mother to live there. Just, you know. Respect the local religion.
Gallus Nesting is divided into two areas: Residential and business. The Residential area, closer to the forest and warpstones, sports luxurious buildings, a small pond area and stables for the various tamed animals. Rumor has it, River herself will build a house for you here if you wish to move in! Alternatively, you can stay at the local hotel if you don't wish to stay long.
Past the smaller community farm you will find the business street. Many of the shops are still works in progress, but more are moving in quick! Finally, the lake bordering the town wil soon house a full temple to the Mother.
