Tom Sachs Space Program Fangirl.

Back in 2012 after finishing exams, I had a treat.cho.self. day that included opening day at Tom Sachs’ exhibition at the Armory. In 2016, Tom Sachs and Van Neistat’s film of this exhibition made its way to Seattle.

Sachs collaborated with Nike during this project. There was some tension on making the shoes with the nike swoosh mirrored such that when the footprints landed on Mars, they would be in the right orientation.

Printed in fangirldom. I was not successful in giving it to Mr. Sachs.

Print 025-6: Two-Tone Gift Box

Still having a pretty difficult time getting things to print, especially without a raft. After printing, I tried to shave off the raft (had a few mistakes...) with an exacto knife, sand it down, and then put on a small coat of acetone. Definitely need to work on the post-process but it was fun to experiment!
