Does Dappervolk understand how much more successful and playable their game would be if they a) made premium currency tradeable b) gave us unlimited private wardrobe saves c) gave users a “wardrobe gallery” with premium currency slot expansions d) let people post PNG saves from that wardrobe gallery in the forums???

Huh, we hit elite after all, with that 24 hour extension. Without that I’d have been about two thousand points short. 

The stuff is cute! I am liking the warm red and green and how well it works with other site items.

Huh. Turns out I might hit elite with the 24 hour extension after all. Nice break for casual play, but I do feel bad for folks who rushed it. 

This is Dappervolk’s first festival-style event. A lot of the critique I’m seeing about it seems to reference the festival-events that other sites do, like Aywas and FR. But they aren’t the same, and Dappervolk is still finding its feet in terms of how to do a festival, manage community goals, earn player buy-in and balance expectations with developer vision. 

I was there for the first light flight fest on FR :P and the first Night of Nocturne, and to be honest Dappervolk’s went off just fine! I also like how they are not leaning on ‘fest’ currency the way Aywas did, because that seemed to demand a much less healthy playstyle of its players in order to participate at even an average level. 

I like games that say “you can play just fine logging in for twenty minutes once or twice a day but if you have some extra time we’ll reward you,” not “you can buy your way to success by spending sixteen hours a day grinding/botting, but if you have a full-time job or are a student, you’re screwed.” (looking at you, Furvilla!)

I like how they’ve added additional items to the ‘stretch goals’ because it gives incentive for folks to jump onboard and participate even if they’re just logging in now. Instead of looking at it and saying “yeah I’ll never get above participant, why would I even try,” everyone can see that a) they get stuff just for showing up and b) anything they add to the effort will increase the stuff everyone gets. 

I’ll hit gold easily but am not pushing for elite, just not at home at my computer often enough, but that’s ok with me- there’s a lot of things in my life more important and worthy of my time than animated fairy wings in a pet sim game!

I don’t spend real money on games like this, kickstarters aside, but I had enough turnips from daily login bonus to snag the monthly skin. The whole aesthetic matches the kelphorse pretty well! I had no desire for last month’s items but this month’s are nice.

Mag’s skin is amazing. So far the one most worth all that daily grinding.

Got some NPCs to like me tonight. Desert hood is neatest thing. I really hope we get a desert aesthetic town in the future!

Got all 3 clothing sets of Bearnard, Buli and Lilia complete now. Fun to put them side by side!

Calbet is almost done, but I barely have anything from Farmhand and nothing of Fantasia because I didn’t start with their store. Will start working on them tomorrow.
