"Probably not, but I've seen people do more inappropriate things at a scene before". Cass was trying to be friendly for many reasons. One, he was told he needed more friends. Two, it helped to be friendly to the paramedics. And three, he could see the same grief on the chthonic's face. "It's nice to meet you, San. And not at all. Fresh air always feels good after these".
He walked out of the building, and to a quiet area, away from parked cars and illuminated by one street light. He pulled out his own pack of smokes and his lighter. It was a bit of a balancing act to light his, but he made it work. Cass was able to do a lot with just one hand to the point where it seemed natural to him. "Need a light?"
"Sadly, that is very true, but I do try to set an example of good professional behaviour at work, and not the opposite as much as possible." Though, the officer knows that compulsion isn't above the chthonic to use when needed. "Likewise." Now that might have been a bit of a lie there. Because meeting anyone here isn't favourable to Minho in any capacity. But he finds himself going along with it because he can use the excuse of meeting the wolf at work. Though, if he's completely honest with himself, if they had been doing the same work, Minho would have asked to be transferred to a different group. The horror of working with someone daily after grief counselling meeting.
Outside, he sighs before taking a deep breath that he releases silently. Already tension is leaving his shoulders and he no longer feels like there's a choker tightening around his throat. He's about to get his own lighter when the wolf offers his, and Minho leans forward a bit until his cigarette is lighted up. "Thanks." Maybe the other had expected the chthonic to take said lighter from him, but Minho figures that the older man is a very capable one. Strangely enough, he unconsciously thinks it would've been disrespectful to take it away.
Now away from people leaving, the chthonic finds himself compelled to say—"You can call me Minho when we're not at the meetings. That's the name people at work knows me by. Would you mind if I asked about your police rank?"
