"Why are you here with us, Kuhzey?" Reyhan asked, her brows raised. Nesrin turned back as Kuhzey pointed at Reyhan.
"You fell," Nesrin interpreted his hands. "He was worried."
Reyhan frowned. "You have more important things to worry about. I'm fine."
Kuhzey frowned back. You are my friends. His gestures were quick and angry. I care.
"It's all right, Kuhzey. I've been watching her. It has been a difficult few days, sometimes people react in surprising ways to these sorts of upsets. Bodies are fragile."
He looked from one to the other, frustrated. He finally settled on Nesrin and pointed an accusing finger at her. You are my friend. And Ihsan's. His hands moved in such fluid rhythm, she lagged in her understanding. Why did you lie to us?
Her heart ached. Tears welled as the words tumbled inside her, beating to be free, and activating the fire in the ring. Heat deadened her ability to think, and she mentally recoiled from the thoughts of the truth.
They stared at each other. Kuhzey's gaze searching her face, waiting. She tried, again. And failed again. The pain was too much. Slicing through her, and reminding her , that even if she defeated the enchantment, she could not defeat Behram Kadir. he had everything she loved in the grip of his fist.
Kuhzey crossed the distance between them and closed his hands over theirs. His features were still tight with anger, but something else was there too. He shook her closed fists gently, moving them together, then apart. Nesrin glanced at Reyhan, who only shrugged.
Kuhzey snorted in annoyance, released her hands, and signed, I know what it looks like to be unable to speak...He tapped his heart, brows drawing down. He drew a circle around his face and pointed at hers. ...to be trapped.
Her breath rushed out as she understood. He pointed at her hands again. Say it to me this way. pg.477-478
