This blog is mainly to post about Elain Archeron and Elriel from ACOTAR but sometimes I talk about other aspects of the series or other ships. Pro Inner Circle.
I'm not anti any character, just the Elucien and Gwynriel ship but I have nothing against Lucien and I actually really like Gwyn.
Jk after dealing with Lucien boy moms and Eluciens, this is not a safe space for Lucien enjoyers. I’ve gone from neutral to outright disliking him.
Everyone else is okay in my book.
My ships for ACOTAR: Elriel, Feysand, Nessian, Targwyn (crackship), Emorie
The Two Biggie Questions: What will I do if the next book isn't Elriel? Deactivate this blog (the antis can catch me outside) and leave the fandom. Would I read EL/GA? I flip flop but probably not. I would have to hear the general plot and it would have to be ACOMAF/KOA level of good.

Part 1 - god is my help (Azriel pov)
They had situated themselves on top of a blanket on a grassy, tree covered hill overlooking Velaris. The tall, ancient trunks encircled the area, providing a sense of concealment, as the setting sun covered them and the city peaking through the bushes with a quiet golden glow.
Or maybe that's just how everything seemed when he was with her. Golden.
Part 2 - my god has answered me (Elain pov)
“I know that look,” he chuckled up at her, eyes boring into her own, challenging her. He gripped her hips hard to buck up into the aching, clothed apex of her thighs, punctuating his thrust with, “You want more.”
She bit her lip and nodded. She hadn’t always allowed herself to want more, hadn’t given herself the freedom of even thinking of what more could look like. She had accepted whatever people were willing to give to her, whatever they thought she deserved.
Now, in this new life, she found that she had changed in more ways than just her body. She did want more.
And she wasn’t afraid to ask for it.

eluciens love to make elain a plant and lucien the sun. yet vassa is who has a curse during daytime. spellcleaving and day being lucien's heritage.
vassa is a firebird and firebirds are similar to phoenix. the phoenix is associated with the sun god.
and while flying in her firebird form vassa is vibrant like "molten metal", just like lucien's hair when his temper rises and his power gets a little activation. and his remaining eye molten ore when in the territort of the autumn court.
gwyn's hair also shone like "molten metal" in the bonus chapter when she asked "do you sing" without a light source mention. like lucien when his temper turned into power.
Besides the fact that the sunshine association makes Elain a plant…Lucien is never associated with sunshine.
Direct call out to the fire of Lucien and how Feyre cringes at the thought of it with Elain.
Lucien and Vassa directly connected and getting the Feyre patented title. This was also right after the Helion father reveal and he’s still connected to fire, not sunshine.
Same with this. In the same moment it’s talked about Helion being his father, it’s still stated that fire is his gift.
Besides, what is a better use of a Lucien parent retcon? So SJM could make a vague word association to sunshine (that doesn’t even happen as we can see) or so Lucien can have spell cleaving powers and go after a woman under a spell?
“The clock on the mantel chimed eight. As if it had summoned her, Elain slid into the room.”
There is something here. This is something we will look back on after these next three books and see that it was a little SJM sprinkle.
🌀The 8th court
🌀 Dusk
🌀 Mor jumping to her feet almost in worship of Elain entering the room
🌀 the offering of wine
🌀 the juxtaposition of the clock chiming eight versus the priestesses having service at seven
🌀 8-pointed star… 8pm…
🌀 I really think Elain is going to be the one to connect all of this.
And a little delulu: the priestesses are sus theory moment- what if the priestesses are singing and holding service during the liminal time, when the veil is thin at 7am/7pm, in order to keep "the mother" or the powers that be at bay? To keep the clock from chiming 8, so to speak......
been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which I call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter
Please keep making art. Please make it for yourself. Please don’t let everything become even more of the same flat general appeal nonsense that doesn’t seem to have anything to say
lucien would’ve been the one to offer to take elain to the garden himself, figure out she was a seer, stay in velaris instead of leaving to find another female, be the one to save elain when she was kidnapped by the cauldron to hybern’s camp, give elain a dagger to protect herself, have the fmc of the series picture a painting of them ‘The Fox and The Lovely Fawn’ instead of giving him a name with another female: A bird of flame … and a lord of fire, spend time during solstice showing an interest in bridging the gap between them and exchange thoughtful gifts instead of ignoring and avoiding until he gets the hint and leaves, have positive moments that are noticed by every member of the inner circle, mainly including elain’s sisters and the female who has the gift of truth, and instead of the female shrinking, have elain sit closer to him..
but none of this happened. clearly for a reason!
elain has had two years to “get to know lucien”..
one. she doesn’t have to get to know him if she doesn’t want to and two. sarah has seperated them for a reason. it’s common sense i fear..
and re-read the books. because you forget:
“..Many mated pairs will try to make it work, believing the Cauldron selected them for a reason. Only years later will they realize that perhaps the pairing was not ideal in spirit.” 24
So... Elriels were mocked for not commissioning enough art for Nuala and Cerridwen week that was organized within a month, and you all are out there reposting fan art your thief scammer bestie commissioned and took down with her when she deactivated? 💀
What happened to "put your money where your mouth is", huh? Was the budget short for the week you had to dust off old art?
I better not see bitches who are erasing Elain from fanart, saying they suddenly like her after October because "Sarah is a good writer and convinced you".
She already is and she already wrote a great Elain. You're the one beefing with the Archerons before they even get books.
Elriels : 3 sisters 3 brothers. 3 girl groups for sisters.
Antis: 2 sisters 2 brothers and 2 redheads. 3 girl group for 2 sisters and for the third sister 2 girls and a human man. 3x3 for cassian azriel and mor as brothers and valkyries as sisters.
Gwynriels don't understand that if Gwynnifer was Azriel's mate, he would still question the Cauldron... in HER FACE.
"But why her? Why not Elain? Why it has to be her sister's friend? Why was I given to her but not the third sister?"
After years, Azriel developed feelings for Elain and helped her to overcome her sadness and depression by being the softest gentleman with her, taking her to garden walks, being a quiet company for her, listening to her talking about gardening and baking, and much more instead of looking for his """mate""" who had the worst trauma and was in the most vulnerable state of her life and visiting her in the library to see if she was okay (even 'spying') or building a friendship with her.
And then, when Azriel was going to train the Valkyries in ACOSF, they would already have all that development we readers didn't know and would show through the book, and there would already be that tension between them. Meanwhile, they have absolutely nothing.
He didn't look for her after she was rescued, he didn't want a friendship with her and doesn't consider her a friend, he doesn't reach out to train her privately or offer to train together, and on top of that, in the bonus he left her alone in the freezing night, didn't want to spend the whole night with her (like he did with Elain) and didn't offer to escort her back to the safety of the library after she finished her training.
And then he tells Clotho to give Gwynnie or any of the priestesses the necklace he gifted to the woman he wants to kneel so bad to taste her sweet jasmine flower. It's like the situation where someone doesn't want something anymore because it has now bad memories, so they give it to someone they know but don't spend time with them and say "give it to anyone who you know will like it, I just don't want it anymore" and then they leave like 'I don't give a fuck who gets it, just be someone who is not my friend'. Like… he had all that feeling of gifting Elain the necklace HIMSELF and putting it on HER, and with Gwynnifer in the bonus it's like "yeah, give it to her, or anyone there, thanks Clotho, bye".
Meanwhile through the book we know he worries about Elain, he cares about Elain, feels sick of Elucien's bond, has tension with Elain, almost kissed Elain, and every night he goes to bed with his mind on Elain.
I hate that some of you act like Elain and Azriel suddenly became a thing after Nessian.
NO. I DARE SAY ELRIEL WAS THERE BEFORE.
They have been right there since Acomaf. It’s been sitting on the page for the last four books. For a damn decade at this point.
The only thing that stopped Elriel from being the second couple was Lucien blurting out, “You’re my mate” to a traumatized Elain the literal second poor girl came out of the cauldron.
Elriel’s dynamic was already being built.
While Cassian was busy glaring at the sisters and judging them over Feyre, Azriel was reciting poetry to Elain, paying attention to her, smiling at this human girl he’d literally just met and empathizing with her (which earned him a glare from Cas btw) (which Az ignored and smiled at Elain again)
So when people go, “Ugh, 3 sisters / 3 brothers is so predictable and boring,” I just have to laughhh.
Would you say that if Elriel had become the second couple and Nessian had been the third? Or is it only “too predictable and boring” because you guys don’t like Elain?
DO WHATEVER YOU DO BUT DO NOT PRETEND ELRIEL WAS NOT T H E R E FOR A DECADE.
We are not trying to make up a ship for the next book. THEY WERE THERE. And not just in the BC
Also yall want us to believe ending up with your fated mate is the “less predictable” path in a SJM book? Please ugh.
We are going to dive deep into this quote and how it connects to elriel and the middle.
I watched the light shift inside the sapphire Siphon instead, as if it were the great eye of some half slumbering beast from a frozen wasteland.
Firstly thanks to @amethystblooms for this quote bc without her I wouldnt have found this whole connection.
The quote explains how Azriel's siphon is some great eye of half slumbering = Elain? Bc she is a seer. And beast as in "fanged beast and trembling fawn"?
And frozen wasteland part...I made a theory post before how the middle seems to take inspo from wasteland mythology/motif.
Basically the wasteland happens when a king gets wounded and his land suffers with him...it is literally what happens to the middle and fionn.
The image shifted to some sort of marsh—a bog. Fionn rode a horse between the islands of grass, bow at the ready as he ducked beneath trees in bloom. My parents often went hunting in the vast slice of land the Daglan had kept for their private game park, where they had crafted terrible monsters to serve as worthy prey. It was there that he met his death. A dark-haired, pale creature that could have been the relative of the nøkk in Jesiba’s gallery dragged a bound and gagged Fionn into the inky depths of the bog, the once-proud king screaming as he went under.
Horror rooted Bryce to the spot.
Theia and Pelias stood at the water’s edge, faces impassive.
Petals began falling from the trees. Leaves with them. Birds took flight. As if sudden winter gripped the bog. As if the land had died with its king.
And the middle actually described as a wasteland.
Oorid stretched before them. She had never seen a place so dead. A place that made the still-human part of her recoil, whispering that it was wrong wrong wrong to be here.Azriel winced. The shadowsinger of the Night Court winced as the full brunt of Oorid’s oppressive air and scent and stillness hit him. The three of them surveyed the wasteland.
Sudden winter = middle is wasteland = frozen wasteland
Now how this connects to Elriel.
I said that first quote is about Azriel's siphons. Eye could be elain and frozen wasteland as we talked about is the middle.
I made a post before how Elain will be the one to revive the middle.
Elain in acowar
Devlon let out a grunt at the sight of her. But Elain wrapped her own blue cloak around herself, averting her eyes from all of those towering, muscled warriors, the army camp bustling toward the horizon … She was a rose bloom in a mud field. Filled with galloping horses.
The middle in acosf
Islands of grass dotted the expanse, some so crowded with brambles that he could find no safe place to land. The tangles of thorns were a mockery of what might have been—as if Oorid had ever produced roses. Not a single flower bloomed.
The middle when Fionn dies
As you can see it fits perfectly with how Fionn dies and the middle.
I also suspect that "half slumbering beast" could be about Fionn or maybe his power.
In my wild hunt post I theorized that Fionn is not dead but sleeping. In real life mythology it is explained like this:
According to the most popular account of Fionn's death, he is not dead at all, rather, he sleeps in a cave, surrounded by the Fianna. One day he will awake and defend Ireland in the hour of her greatest need. In one account, it is said that he will arise when the Dord Fiann, the hunting horn of the Fianna, is sounded three times, and he will be as strong and as well as he ever was.
This fits with the wasteland myth as well and I explained it all in post I added above. 🫡
Another part now...
I made a post aboıt winter and elriel connection. How there is so many stuff connecting them to it.
Winter solstice explained by Nuala:
Nuala went on, “It’s a time of rest, too. And a time to reflect on the darkness—how it lets the light shine.” “Is there a ceremony?” The half-wraith shrugged. “Yes, but none of us go. It’s more for those who wish to honor the light’s rebirth, usually by spending the entire night sitting in absolute darkness.”
Elriel TT scene
Elain looked up at Azriel, their eyes meeting, his hand still lingering on the hilt of the blade.I saw the painting in my mind: the lovely fawn, blooming spring vibrant behind her. Standing before Death, shadows and terrors lurking over his shoulder. Light and dark, the space between their bodies a blend of the two. The only bridge of connection … that knife.”
As you can see they are very much connected to winter and this elain quote
She set down the tray and wiped her flour-coated hands on the apron she wore over her dusty-pink gown. Even in the middle of winter, she was a bloom of color and sunshine.
And in this post I talked about how Elain's smile can light up even Azriel's shadows...can it do the same for the middle.
Elain nodded, smiling up at me, and it was tentative joy—and life that shone in her eyes. A promise of the future, gleaming and sweet. I led her into the sitting room, where Cassian had a bottle of amber-colored liquor in each hand, Azriel was already rubbing his temples, and Mor was grabbing fine-cut crystal glasses off a shelf. “What now?” Elain mused, at last answering my question from moments ago as her attention drifted to the windows facing the sunny street. That smile grew, bright enough that it lit up even Azriel’s shadows across the room. “I would like to build a garden,” she declared. “After all of this … I think the world needs more gardens.”
More gardens = revive the place was turned into wasteland.
Also I suspect that Elain and Azriel have both Fionn's powers.
Fionn in real life mythology has seer powers. = Elain
And in acotar world Fionn probably has shadowsinger powers.
Is it the land of the middle connected more to Elriel than we thought? Or is it as I suspect that maybe before dying fionn bind his powers to the middle to make it "wasteland" as Helena did with Avallen island?
the avallen island was like the prison island because Helena hid 1/3 of theia's power there and once bryce claimed that power...the island went back to what it was.
Helena had bound the soul of this land in magical chains. No more. No more would Bryce allow the Fae to lay claim over anything.
“You’re free,” Bryce whispered to Avallen, to the land and the pure, inherent magic beneath it. “Be free.”
And it was.
It was no longer gray and thrashing, but a vibrant, clear turquoise. And rising from the water, just as they had seen on the map Declan had found, were islands, large and small. Lush and green with life.
Forests erupted on the island they stood on, soon joined by mountains and rivers.
Can we do the same to the middle? Turn it back to what it was before it became a wasteland?
Is it how "Elain lightning up Azriel's shadows" will affect the middle? Bc Fionn bind his powers to the middle and Elain will do the same as Azriel's shadows...get rid of the darkness 👀
That's about it. Thanks for reading. It got a little out of hand. 🩷💙
"Elriels don't care about Elain's choice they just want her with Azriel"
So...the man she chose? She chose to kiss, to buy gifts for, to talk for hours to, the man whose hands she chose to call his beautiful, the man she chose to spend time in the garden with?
Are you not seeing the pattern here? Can you tell me one moment she chose to do something that made her closer to Lucien?
You can't.
That's why all you can do is make up bullshit scenarios like "she buys Lucien gifts she doesn't give" or "she kept the coat he gave her". Because you don't see that on page because that NEVER HAPPENED.
It doesn't matter how much you try to twist a narrative. You'll never be able to make Elriels anti-choice when we've been the only ones advocating for Elain to choose for herself, for her agency and free will, and that just happens to be Azriel. We ship her with him because that's what SJM wrote, meanwhile you losers are left daydreaming about all the things Sarah could've written for your ship but she didn't.
We don't have to "hope" for anything. We have the books.
