Scary Thought.

One thing I've learned and realized with my time in the military is that time and life does not slow down, stand still or wait. It is not forgiving nor is it caring. The people you love and care about will not halt their lives for you while you are gone so you can pick back up when you get back. You have to adjust to the progression they've made in their life, and you have to do it almost instantly.

As I lay here in this bed next to you

I can't help but feel a sense of belonging. Like I'm home. Like I'm supposed to be here. It's a very crazy feeling when home isn't a shelter or a room or a wood box on the street, but a person. But like I've said here before; houses come and go, you can sell your houses but a home is where people love you. That's what I have here. We spent some of the night looking at engagement rings and I can't express how much I am looking forward to giving you one of those. It's crazy to think that in 15 days, I will be taking this next step in a huge commitment to giving us a better and more secure life. I'm so nervous about it, I lose sleep about it almost every night. But through all that I can't block out the excitement or the gratitude I have for your support in this decision and life change. Without you I don't know if I could go through with this right now, but with you I feel like I can. I don't know how it's possible, but every day I find a new thing to love about you or about us. I love how we are together I love how you make me feel, how you touch me and how we play and joke around. There's such a long list I could give. You're incredibly special to me. Sleeping next to you and waking up next to you is the best feeling ever. Being next to you is wonderful. Seeing your face shine in no matter how large of a crowd is an incredible thing I can't describe in any other word than magic. I'm going to take this next step and give you that ring and protect and love and provide for this family, always. I love you so much.
