Here we go again; 2 years. That's how long it's been. I got another 2+ years because after my negative actions I was able to recognize I needed help. Even in my darkest of hours I am loved. To the people who stuck around: thank you, I love you & I'm so glad to have you in my life ❤️! To the people just tuning into this life changing experience, please do not begin to see me as weak, or broken. Having a mental illness does not mean you need to be fixed or treated any differently. & before reading this you didn't even notice that I was any different; treat anyone with mental illness the same as you would treat someone without. To the people who left: I feel sorry for you, because my mental illness doesn't define me. I'm still the same person I was, I just need to take better care of myself. To you that may seem selfish, but that's okay, because the stigma that is set out by people who turn their backs when help is needed most are the reason I will forever be posting about the importance of mental health awareness, & how self care is so not selfish. For 9 years I've been living with different diagnoses, we've finally reached the correct one and guess what; I still have a very enjoyable life, I just need reassurance sometimes. As always, no matter what; you should never be without someone you can confide in, a person who's safe, who doesn't judge the thoughts in your head - they don't have to understand what's going on, they just have to accept everything about you. I will forever be open to discussions because I believe that the stigma can be beaten, that one day mental illness will be accepted & not discarded as "being moody". I believe that because you have a mental illness you are stronger than people who don't, because you wake up every day at war with yourself & you fight like hell to make it to tomorrow. Being at war with yourself everyday, all day is one of the hardest things anyone can go through. * 2 years later & I couldn't be happier about the outcomes within my life, because even looking at the bad times - at least I got the chance to experience them. #semicolonproject #TWLOHA #wearyourlabel (at Peterborough, Ontario)
