I watched the morning birds sit on the outside of my window sill, confused as to why the drapes were still shut, patiently waiting for them to to open so they can sing to me again.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched the fresh mug of hot cofffe turn stone cold and left untouched.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched them throw away all of my vision boards and law of attraction journals, knowing there was no way my dreams could come true now.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched people cry their eyes dry, people I thought wouldn’t have even noticed I’d gone.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched my mother bang her head against the wall as she helplessly rocked my lifeless body back and forth.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched all the wasted opportunities dissolve into thin air.

The morning after I killed myself,

I watched them lay my body to rest and watched every chance I ever had shut on me forever with the closing of the wooden box. I’d been imprisoned.

The morning after I killed myself,

I realised I’d made the biggest mistake of my life.

My beloved little sister endured quite troubling times throughout her younger years; Some of which left her with many self inflicted scars on her arms (like where my tattoo is placed) & other parts of her body. So..this tattoo, I dedicate to her. Because instead of there being a period on her life, there is a semicolon. She’s still here, she’s still fighting & she’s still conquering. I AM, my sister’s keeper.
