I need help....
I’ve had my Ami for over a year now (after getting him at Petco after two months) he is a metallic dragon scale half moon. Recently I’ve noticed he’s been growing a tumor on his back, I never paid too much attention since it’s common in pet store bettas and other than the small (at the time) growth was completely normal.
But today during a water change I saw that not only is the tumor much bigger but it’s poking through his skin, exposing pink flesh. He seems much more tired and isn’t exploring the tank anymore. Waiting at the bottom at of the tank til feed time or sitting on floating plants.
I’m not sure if it’s time to finally put him down or hold out and hope he has a couple months left.
The updated 55 Gallon!
I’m also getting a Mini-Aussie Puppy this week too so
After the DEEP clean. Which was washing all the decor and glass and moving all the plants around. And the mess of running into a closed petco and begging the cashier to check me out because my filter had died and my fish were all in little cups around my house(THANKS to Jordan the cashier you’re the bomb) One of my Corys decided to lay some eggs too!
This is why I can’t have nice things
I decided to rescape my tank and also deep clean it and when I turned off the filter it decided to die. Which means I have to drive across town to a petco that closes in 10 minutes to grab a new filter. Joy. And of course I don’t get paid for another week :)
I found a 10% coupon and I got a Biowheel filter. Overall I’m happy because I think it’s better than the topfin one I had. I moved over the filter media and I’m gonna monitor the cycle.

I can’t stop thinking about crocodiles for some reason so here’s some cool pictures I found of probably the second largest one in captivity, his name is Utan:
isn’t he beautiful
listen to the SOUND when he bites
and that’s not even a real power bite, that’s mostly just heavy bone falling on heavy bone from his jaws and the air rushing out from between them
2000 pounds of Good Boy
you get me
I honestly expected like 5 notes, what HAPPENED here

Wait, thats the 2nd biggest crocodile? Then what does the biggest one look like?
That would be Cassius, a very old Saltwater crocodile who is estimated to be around 114 years old and lives at Marineland Melanesia in Green Island, Australia.  His official measurement is 5.48 meters, which makes him the largest in captivity currently.  Because Utan is only slightly smaller and much younger, (only in his 50s), he will likely break Cassius’ record eventually.  But for now, Cassius holds the title:
He is NOT, however, either the largest crocodile ever captured in Australia OR the largest ever in captivity.
A slightly larger crocodile has been reported (though not yet comfirmed) to have been captured at 5.58 meters.
And while the famous Brutus of the Adelaide River was estimated to be just slightly larger than Cassius at 5.5m, he was driven out of his territory by a younger and even larger crocodile, who as a result has been given the name, The Dominator. Â He is estimated to be just over 6m.
This is Brutus, with an appropriate caption:
It is believed that he lost that arm in a fight with a Bull Shark. Â
The Bull Shark lost.
THIS is the crocodile who kicked him out. Â The Dominator:
And that’s STILL not the biggest. Â
The largest living crocodile ever reliably measured was Lolong, who for the 1.5 years between his capture and his death was the largest crocodile ever held in captivity, at a whopping 6.17 meters (20 feet 3 inches) and 1075 kg (2,370 lbs). Â He had been feeding on both humans and very large livestock in the Bunawan creek in Agusan del Sur in the Philippines. Â It took 100 people all night to drag him to shore during his capture.
And here’s why:
Also, to prevent credit from getting buried on a separate reblog, I have been informed that the above image of the crocodile with the cartoon eyes and halo was made by @rashkah! Â (And it is wonderful and I would like to thank him for its existence, because it perfectly captures my feelings about terrifying giant primordial reptiles.)
So these are my dogs, Saturn and Electra. Saturn hates everything and Electra is a sweet and precious baby girl. Saturn is also sweet and precious but he’s just a real grump sometimes. Anyways I would die for them both have a good evening everybody

Crowntail males!
The more I look at them the more I fall in love <3 Now I just need the name and the fish
I know y'all are tired of me BUT
So now I’m looking at: crowntail males (would love a white or an orange one! Also one of those that have a little black mustache are cute Plakat males (really really really want a koi) King males (I don’t care :)
They would go into a 10 or 20 gallon by themselves Or A 55 gallon with a small school of Harlequin rasboras (7) and a school of Corys (10) Depending on temperament of course!
Thoughts?
He screm
Water changes?
So I've been doing 15% water changes every week in my 55 gallon, what has been up for around 6-8 months (what I did for my 10 Gallon ages ago) I was just wondering if maybe I'm doing too much/too little? Stock: 1 betta 7 Harlequin Rasboras (hopefully boosting to 15 soon) 10 Julii Corys
Cherry Shrimp
They’re all missing??? Ami doesn’t attack shrimp all either. I was doing water change when they usually pop out of the moss but nope. No bodies either. Maybe Ami went on a killing spree last night??
Ight so I cleaned the filter+intake+baffle. Nothing. At all. Nothing. Whatever not like I spent 100 dollars on them pffft. I'm so poor why.
