Sanji's first experience with a man was definitely Ace, as one of my most popular posts states, so I thought I'd go into a bit more detail.
I think about this scene a lot
The smile ace gives him, the extra mug next to Ace implying Sanji was sitting next to him and chatting...
They're chatting and of course, the topic of women comes up, Sanji is thrilled to talk about Nami, as always, talking Ace's ear off about how beautiful she is. Eventually, when Sanji is done, he asks Ace about the beautiful women in his life, to which he replies
"I haven't really been around many women, the only female crew members on pop's ship are the nurses. Men on the other hand... well..." he trails off and lets a slight grin take over his face, his eyes get heavy momentarily.
Sanji is, of course, shocked. The Portgas D. Ace, just implied he thought about men and found them attractive. Sure, Sanji could admit when he found a man attractive, but that wasn't gay.
"What do you mean?" Sanji raises an eyebrow curiously, watching Ace carefully as he pulls himself from his train of thought. He smiles for real this time, directly at Sanji.
"Oh yeah, men are something else, man. There are plenty of really hot guys I've considered sleeping with on my ship." Ace talks casually as if this is a normal conversation he's had before. Sanji's eyes grow wide and he almost chokes on his coffee, coughing loudly. Ace lets out a deep belly laugh.
"You're surprised I like men? Thought that was pretty obvious, blondie" Ace snickers, taking a sip of his coffee.
Oh boy, Sanji doesn't understand the feeling deep in his gut, but it feels right. It feels similar to the feeling he gets when he sees any woman, but that can't be right, can it? He doesn't like men, obviously.
"What about you? Do you ever think about men? I'd say you've got a pretty attractive guy on this crew." Ace smirks at Sanji, who feels his ears and cheeks go warm.
"Oh hell no! That stupid Marimo? I'd never. Ugly bastard!" Sanji complains, frowning at the thought of the vice-captain. Really, he knows Zoro isn't ugly; far from it. Admitting that though? Not a chance in the damn world.
Ace smirks, and places a warm hand on Sanji's thigh, squeezing lightly but enough that it makes Sanji gasp a little, any chance of words coming out blocked by the sudden lump in his throat.
"I was talking about you, Chef. But good to know that the first person you thought of when I mentioned attractive men on your ship was Zoro." Ace grins devilishly as he watches Sanji's slight blush turn into a fiery red mess across his entire face.
"Jackass..." Sanji mumbles, head spinning with thoughts he didn't particularly want to acknowledge.
At that moment, Ace gets bold, and leans closer to Sanji, searching for any sort of resistance or disgust, but finds none. So he closes the gap between them. At first, Sanji doesn't kiss back, just sits there completely stunned, eyes wide and heart pounding.
Without breaking the kiss, Ace turns so his legs are on either side of the kitchen table bench, he moves Sanji carefully so he's seated the same way, then pulls him closer. Finally, Sanji lets his eyes flutter closed and kisses back. His hands nervously come up to rest on Ace's tanned and freckled shoulders.
Ace has a firm but gentle grip on Sanji's hips, rubbing small circles into the dips with his thumbs, Sanji exhales through his nose and leans into the kiss more, letting Ace practically take over the kiss entirely. He smiles into the kiss, bringing one of his hands off Sanji's hip and running it through the blonde's hair.
Eventually, they run out of breath and break away, Sanji panting, eyelids heavy, cheeks and nose dusted with a shade of pink, and a slight dribble of drool in the corner of his mouth. He smiles, and laughs nervously, looking up at Ace who's in a very similar boat to him.
"Wow. That was- uhm- wow." Sanji bites his lower lip, trying to find any sort of intelligent words to say, but finds nothing.
"Yeah. That was- uhm- pretty wow."
