The biggest problem you have as a company is thinking you have it solved. You need a hungry open mind, which is probably the most important thing. A mindset of constantly challenging, of constantly seeking disruption

Looking forward to welcoming 100 @globalshaperscommunity members to #capetown for The World Economic Forum on Africa in June. "With the world’s largest youth demographic, Africa’s working-age population is expected to double to 1 billion in the next 25 years, surpassing both China and India. The year 2015 is also significant for Africa, as it marks the end of global, regional and local efforts to meet the Millennium Development Goals aimed at eradicating poverty. Double-digit growth is now needed for sustainable development, and the onus is on leaders to address systemic structural changes that can boost investment, enhance competitiveness, strengthen risk resilience and harness opportunities arising from technology adoption in all sectors." There should be no boundaries to human endeavor. We are all different. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there’s life, there is hope.

The Future is here whether you like it or not !!!The facts are clear , Data is increasing at nearly 50 - 80% year of year and accelerating depending on industry.. Storage Capacity is double every 18 months and dropping by 50% a year.. Simple math dictates this is a losing proposition. One last study stated more data has been created in the last two years than in all of human history.Industry has grown so dependent on hardware engineers to simply make bigger and bigger ( smaller) boxes to put stuff in..without any pressure exerted on the software industry to bring efficiency to bare. ...for governments trying to grow jobs and encourage entrepreneurs, [understanding data on high growth companies and tech bubbles is] a way to focus on quality over quantity.

Timing matters, a lot.
"In a dataset from Massachusetts, 77% of growth outcomes (an IPO or acquisition within 6 years of being founded) came from companies in the top 5% of the quality measure the authors created, based on everything from how a company is named to how quickly it files for patents. Nearly 50% of successful outcomes were in the top 1%."
The earlier entrepreneurs got more time in a growth market, and were more likely to be successful.
Graph: "There was a huge spike in the number of firms that exited successfully around 1995—they got the full benefit of the boom, and suffered fewer of the consequences of the tech-bubble bust"
