2020, DTIYS with mochikako
2020, I was obsessed with Oatly milk, so I wanted to make some Buchi, Pandeube (cries not sal), and Biko flavored milks - in Oatly’s design!
2020, DTIYS with smileysideup
2020, Boo! chi Halloween Set, I always have fun creating these fun, spooky edition flavors. I think my favorite is probably the Turon CaBOOCHIno. The flavors were inspired by Mostra Coffee
2020, I think we can all agree, we’d rather have a fluffy pandesal, over a pandemic. Wrong pan!
2020, DTIYS with shopchoobi ‘s Sad Pup ♡
2020, Fall Guys skins, using Buchi, Ube Cheese, and Pandeube
2020, The Buchi County Fair Set. I remember drawing this during the summer of the pandemic. Since 2015, I went almost every year, so you can imagine my dismay knowing I wouldn’t be able to attend with the pandemic going on. I was going to miss the crazy fair food the most. Thus I had the bright idea of creating some of my own!
2020, Buchi Valentine’s Day Set! I wish I was talented in the kitchen too, then maybe I could bring these chocolates to life! My favorite part of the Valentine’s set was definitely creating these chocolate flavors.
2020, Pandeube and some jams that would go great on them. And to this day, this is still one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever created.
2019, Boo-chi Halloween Set! I remember thinking this was my first holiday with Buchi, so I wanted to go all out for Halloween. I felt like I did a good job! I had the most fun making the Trick-or-Treat photos and trying to decide what’s in each pumpkin basket. I hope it gave people a good laugh.
2019, a bag of pan de ube to go, please. I turned this one into a sticker, and I was actually quite proud of it! I stuck those stickers on so many of my items, and gave them away as gifts to friends. I love looking at Pandeube. I want to hug them.
In 2019, I came up with this brilliant idea of a a deep fried mochi shell ice cream, unless that’s already been done before? What ice cream flavors would you use? My favorites are... coffee, matcha, black raspberry with the dark chocolate nibs, vanilla bean *dies*
Screenshot or pause the video to find out! ♡ 2019, my first “interactive” artwork! I was very excited about this one
2019, my summertime Buchi set. I remember as a kid, summer being the amalgamation of warmth, freedom, bliss, adventure, cool drinks, fruits, and lots of ice cream. I really miss it. I miss the relief and freedom I felt on the last days of school, going to the county fair from morning to night, spontaneous adventures with friends, and more. Enjoying summer as a kid is different from experiencing it as an adult. Having no responsibilities and just worrying about plans for the next day was the best (’:
In 2016, I wanted to create a set of characters I could call my own. I was so inspired by Sanrio, Sumikko Gurashi, Rilakkuma, etc. In 2019, I made Buchi! I was excited because this character (and the latter), was influenced by my childhood and Filipino/ Asian sweets and foods. With that, I wanted to bring more Fil-Am representation to the cute culture, while also recognizing that many of these foods have a rich history. I wanted to acknowledge the different cultures they originated from. One example being that buchi or butsi, is the Filipino term for Jian Dui (Tang Dynasty, 7th century CE, China).
That being said, I hope you enjoy Buchi, Pandeube, Ube Cheese, Biko, and Kopiko, and fall in love with them too
2019, more breakfast foods, featuring one of my favorite snacks from childhood, and two gems I discovered in adulthood
