“Yeah I’m the funniest in the building, no one could compete with me. Probably.” Though at the offer at slacking off did entice Ted, mainly as he still had a few more days till the weekly reports were due and that was easy to smash out within an hour anyway. “Who’s to say we aren’t already slacking off? Neither of us are doing anything right now.”

Agree to disagree. But walking around and asking if anyone needs help is part of my job.

"Uh huh sure it is. So you're Mr Davidson's little assistant then? Or are you like one of the various interns this place goes through?" Ted asked as he adjusted how he was sitting in his office chair so he was leaning on one knee and almost nearly falling out of said chair. "You could also be somehow who snuck into the building, which would be hilarious."

I'm the other secretary.

Coda said in a snarky tone, knowing full well that Ted knew who Secretary number one was.

I've been working here since October of '24. But don't piss me off, for when I am angry, I am keen and shrewd, and though I am but little, I am fierce.

"Sure you are. It's okay to admit if you're an intern. No shame in such a thing." He chuckled before giving a small eye raise. "I really haven't noticed you working here, maybe you're too short ha."

I'm not going to admit to being an intern if I'm not an intern.

He very slowly tilted his head, letting it fall limp at the bottom.

“Sure, sure. Still a bit strange for one of Mr Davidson’s secretaries to not be close with him right now, since he calls on one of them all the time right?” Ted spoke as he adjusted to now lean on his other knee. “I still believe you’re an intern, as surely you can’t be a secretary.”

I'm a secretary for the whole Technical department, not just Mr. Davidson.

Coda put his head upright.

"Oh, well. Still, you give off the personality of some random intern who won't last too long." He scoffs.

Been here since October of 2024, so. And I have the power of a god who thinks my presence here is really funny on my side.

Ted just stares for a few moments before chuckling as he just plants both feet back onto the ground again as he leans back in his chair. "I don't believe you. As why remain here if you have some sort of power? You could be running a cult or making some good money, but you spend your time here? Yeah you surely can't be some holding some god-like power."

Never said I held it, said it was on my side. As in keeping me from getting fired.

He stared at Ted with a dead serious expression.

Ted simply rolled his eyes. “Knowing someone higher up to make sure you can’t get fired is basically the same thing. Super lucky to work like that then, get to do nothing important or useful and STILL keep your job. Who even are you related to that saves you from any potential trouble you cause for yourself? Is it the top dog or like just someone a few seats up?”

You're taking my statement seriously, but figuratively. That's uncharacteristically smart of you, Ted.

You guys ever wonder if mushrooms are evil? I mean, a lot of other crap in Hatchetfield is, and I know for a fact that plants that grow in the woods can be weird, so what about non-plants?

Maybe mushrooms are the real enemy.
