Mafia! AU
Clara quietly walked down the streets of London, her police badge hidden by he zipped up jacket. The head detective of her apartment John Smith decided to send her out undercover to investigate a recent Mafia group that had been causing trouble in the London area.
Adjusting her gun she looks to the warehouse doors of the supposed hideout and places four gentle knocks on the large door
Sherlock froze, midstep in his silent pacing. He'd gotten here only moments beforehand, but the smugglers had eluded him yet again. The Yard did not look to hire him on this case (Lestrade was apparently disgruntled about a business with 'almost withholding evidence'), so he took it upon himself to bring in everything with the (blatantly obvious) clues and call them in for an easy arrest.
But had they picked up the trail too? The knock wasn't anything special--not the criminals'. But it was brisk and tapped only twice--a knock of someone who knows their authority. He stepped up to the door, hesitating for only a moment before swinging it wide open.
