I found her there, within the grey
Red hair, green eyes, short dress, all play
“You are here too? You know the way?”
Smoke and glass and lost today
“No, not so much…” her smile said
This real? I’m here? Or am I dead?
Some grass to hide in up ahead
I’ll go, wait no, not here, misled
Losing that which binds our love
A goddess, a pure hearted dove
Edge of a cliff, just one good shove
Gone are the years of tipsy bliss
I miss when we would hold and kiss
In dizzy darkness- reminisce.
Has our bond sunk to the abyss?
The next right choice, was it too late?
My love, my life, evil innate
A way to stop this dismal fate?
Can we survive, tortured soul mates
We walk and talk of things so dark
I’ve spent my all, it is so stark
Desperate to find just one small spark
I’m hurt, I’m cracked, mind gone, black mark
Attempts to save a cherished sight
Always shadow, always midnight
Grey fades away to black and white
Bleeding as I claw and fight
We speak of truths and things unseen
Inside I weep, I crack, I scream
Saving our love from the ravine
Take me to the guillotine
Now leave the past to tend its own
Please don’t make me die alone
Each transgression a lone tombstone
I beg my love, can we atone
Not to forget, but not to hold
My thoughts adrift, uncontrolled
Our future waiting to unfold
My very being I have sold
False smiles flip to become real
My bloody heart I can’t conceal
A promise of all time to heal
Abandon me, I cannot feel
Open my eyes- what is the price?
Time drains away as melting ice
Nothing I would not sacrifice
Trust and love and heart attack,
Fear and hurt and now Prozac,
Together we can mend this crack
We have all time, I want you back.
