Being a BHM (Big Handsome Man) trying to find love is honestly exhausting.
Everywhere I look, people say, “Women LOVE big guys!” Cool…where are they? Can someone drop a GPS pin or something?!
And before anyone says, “You just need confidence,” I’ve got confidence. I put myself out there. I message first. I work on myself. I touch grass. I’m doing the things.
Then you hear about Female Fat Admirers (FFAs), and you think, “Maybe there’s hope.” Nope. Every FFA I find is either happily taken or trying to get me to subscribe to her OnlyFans. Apparently my love life comes with a monthly subscription fee.
What gets me is when people say BBWs have it harder. I respectfully disagree. There are entire dating sites, communities, appreciation groups and movements built around celebrating plus-size women. As there should be!
But where’s that energy for BHMs?
Most of us get treated like we’re invisible unless we’re the funny friend, the guy with the great personality, or the backup option. Finding a woman who genuinely loves a fat man as he is, not as a “fixer-upper” project, is way harder than people think.
I’m not asking for a supermodel. I’m not asking for perfection. I just want to find a woman who looks at me, my big belly and all and says, “Yep…that’s my man.”
Is that really too much to ask?
