Protect Against Nasty Ancestors

Ancestor work can be incredibly fulfilling, but there are some real assholes in the family tree. You are not obligated to waste your time on them.

To filter out the unsavory ones, burn marshmallow root, and let the smoke fill the room you are working in. Other useful herbs are lavender, rowan, and sage.

If you are sensitive to smoke, you could also make a bundle, sachet, or whatever else, and keep it in the area.

If you want, you can add some gestures or incantations. You could say something like, “This space is filled only with love and kindness. Anyone who wishes me harm cannot be here.”

This will help keep away nasty ancestors, and only let the ones who actually care about you and your well-being interact with you.
