A year ago I started patreon, with some weekly comics and sketeches. Now I’m going to publish them out from there, one year in delay! :D And it was all thanks for all the people who supported me!! Thanks!! 💕💕Â

hey remember that owlturd’s comic? or a comic about that you need to make a LOT drawings to draw good? yeah, comics like that rubbed me in a wrong way, as well as 10 000 hours rule, so i’m going to clarify some things. yes, you need to draw to learn how to make art, but mindless drawing without looking up lessons or tutorials will take a lot of precious time and the lack of progress won’t feel good. drawing without any direction won’t help you to learn how to draw good. but! it’s okay to take breaks and draw for yourself and it would help you to trace your progress. and he who rests well, works well. LOOK UP TUTORIALS, VIDEO LESSONS, DO THE EXERCISES, DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK ARTISTS FOR TIPS. don’t be discouraged with the amounts of work to be done. find a way to draw something you like while learning something. look for inspiration! for example: you saw really cool unicorn drawing but it wasn’t realistic enough for your taste. make a picture YOU want to see! look up some references for horses and draw your very own unicorn! not fancy enough? look up neon signs and make unicorn horn glow like neon. tl;dr: DRAW SMART, NOT HARD.
