After having read Chapter 13 of EAA, what are ways that you have been using analysis, both in school and outside of it? How did you do it?

Outside of school I tend to be a super laid back analyzer. I look at people and decide whether they might be good people that I should hang around though I hate to come off as judgmental, judging a book by it’s cover. Sometimes I can tell super fast at times who I will and won’t get along with. I also analyze the food I eat as I am trying to keep a balance in my diet so it helps me keep myself in line. In school I have to literally analyze word problems and how to dissect the problem in order to solve it and get the right answer.

What’s a favorite documentary of yours. There’s lots of them on YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. if you haven’t found one yet.  Give ‘em a shot!  Why do you like the documentary so much? Are they just reporting information, or is there a hidden meaning/motive in the documentary? How is that shown in the documentary?

The documentary “The White Helmets” in Netflix is by far my favorite documentary show. It shows how there are volunteers who wear white helmets that go helping civilians that find themselves in between the Syria and turkey disputes. It is very sad to see how the volunteers literally risk their lives everyday to help their neighbors survive day by day or at least try their hardest, especially for the young children, yet no one asked them to do anything. It  gave me a glimpse of how much I take for granted such as my freedom and the fact that I am not living a nightmare as some of those civilians are. We can see the volunteers doing their service as some of them talk to the camera telling their insights of what they see day by day and any times of the days. There were also instances when they had to run out of the building because bombs were going off. After watching this documentary I’ve been grateful everyday for simply waking up.

Congrats, Guys! You just finished your first paper for the class. You survived!  Now, what I’d like you do do for this post is a bit of a reflection.

What were some issues you had? Were they expected? Unexpected? What about your successes? What are some things you are really proud of in this paper, and what are some things you wish you could go back and change?

I really enjoyed having something to write about that I chose versus having it picked out for me. Before this assignment, music was just music to me but now I look forward to finding out the stories behind and the meaning as to why artists write their music; their inspirations. I liked the way I started my paper so I believe that I had a good thesis. I wish I could go back to change some grammatical errors and add more evidence to my body paragraphs to make it more fluent to my reader. Overall I liked this assignment, it was a neat experience.

I chose Coldplay due to the fact that I love how much I relate with their music videos. I’m also very fond of their style when it comes to filming the music videos, such as that of “The Scientist” because the story is told in a reversed manner which I thought was pretty cool. The biggest interest I have in them is the themes that their music has, such as love, sorrow, regret, and happiness. All in all, Coldplay simply touches my soul.

Summer 2018 was the best summer in my opinion. I soaked in as much vitamin D as I could, and yes maybe I over did it but who cares (other than my skin.) There was not one week where I didn’t hit the pool or went for a hike. The flowers were smelled along the way, which was one of my favorite things to have don; I had fun. Although I know I could’ve planned how to socialize better with my family, I still have a great connection with them so I don’t regret any of my actions.
