Sally hummed to herself in content as she took in the pleasant atmosphere. It was warmer for January, maybe the lower fifties, higher forties, warmer than it probably should have been, but it was lovely. The perfect weather for an impromptu picnic in the park with Ollie and Opal. She looked over at Ollie, grinning a little as she wiggled her fingers lazily towards Opal, who batted at them happily. “I am too.. but I like it. This was a nice idea.”
Ollie laughed lightly to himself as he poured the wine into one of the glasses. He offered it to her. “Opal seems surprisingly happy with this too. I didn’t think she’d be this comfortable.” He said as his gaze moved to the small feline. He began to pour one for himself before he leaned back to rest his weight on one of his arms. “It honestly was. I’m just glad you didn’t think it was weird to have a picnic in January. I mean I would’ve.”
Ollie sat cross legged on a red patterned blanket. A woven basket pressed against his stomach as he searched through it. He pulled two glasses and a bottle of red wine from it. He saw Opal out of the corner of his eye trying to get Sally’s attention by swatting at her leg. A small smile formed on his lips as he turned toward them. “You know, I’m actually surprised that it was nice enough to do this today.” He said as he looked around the park. It was only slightly chilly, which was odd for January in Apple Peak.
“In any sort of apocalypse scenario, I’d want trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday.” Ollie said as his eyes moved to the sky. “It just seems easier. Live your last day the best way you can right?” He let out a small laugh. “I probably sound really high right now.”
Sally perked up a little at the mention of wine, letting out a coo of delight. “I mean, if you want to share that wine, I won’t be mad.” Sally suggested with a chuckle. “You should really work on that, you know, I can’t always think of all the great ideas.” Sally teased, wrinkling her nose at him.
With a grunt, Ollie forced himself off of the couch. He flashed her a smile as he stood up in front of the couch. His arms were crossed lightly over his chest. “Should I even bother bringing glasses then?” He asked jokingly. “Why do I have to work on it? It’s why I have you around, so that I don’t have to.”
Sally giggled a little, letting him move closer to her and lean his head against her shoulder. She adjusted Opal in her arms, giving Ollie more room, and she chuckled again. “Nope, I had no plans. I really just wanted to get out of the house. I’ve been a homebody since the new year started.” Sally shrugged her unoccupied shoulder carefully. “So I’m up for suggestions.”
Ollie relaxed against her as he pulled his legs up underneath him. He was still a little bitter about her caring more about the cat than him, but he could get over it. “Well, I’m going to leave it all on you because I had absolutely no plans for when you got here. Except for maybe some wine because I still have some left overs from New Years.” He said with a laugh. “I’m not good at making plans. Haven’t you figured that out yet?”
OKAY! So I know I am the actual worst and basically have a completely new roster of character. It’s why I figured I’d throw this up! Bellow are links to the intros I have for my babies. Ferris doesn’t have a link, but I would still love plots for him. If you like this post, I’ll shoot you a message. You can also reply with a specific character you want to plot with too if you want!
Sally grinned up at him, leaning her head against Opal’s body gently and listening to Opal’s purrs. It was such a nice sound, a very happy sound. She looked back at Ollie, giggling a little. “So you are jealous.” Sally teased, patting the seat beside her for Ollie to sit down. “Good to know that your Sally senses still tingle.” She teased. “What do you want to do now while I adore your cat?”
Ollie looked at her and shook his head slightly. He knew Opal was cute, but he had never seen someone dote on her that much before. “So what if I am jealous?” He teased moving to sit closer to her. He leaned his head against her shoulder being mindful of his cat. “I figured you had something you wanted to do since you were coming over.”
“I’m confirming, but only because I can’t resist her face.” Sally pointed out, wrinkling her nose at him playfully. “I mean, can you resist her cute little face? Or her cute little FEET?” Sally asked with a giggle. She carefully lifted Opal onto her lap, who let out a chirp of surprise before climbing up Sally’s torso and laying on her chest, her front paws on her shoulder. Sally cradled her happily, expression soft. “I won’t keep you distracted if you wanna get back to that. I really just came here for the cat after all.” Sally teased.
“I can resist thankfully. You’re not here to come home to shredded chairs, papers, tables, etc. It’s why you still think she’s so cute.” Ollie said with a shrug and a smirk. He watched her play with the cat for a moment as his smirk turned into more of a genuine smile. He reached over to gently scratch the kittens head. “Well luckily for you, I had finished my work already because I knew you were coming over.” He laughed lightly as he crossed his arms over his chest. “Because I selfishly figured you were coming here to hang out with me.”
Sally grinned, turning her gaze towards Ollie and wrinkling her nose at him. “Jealousy is not a good color on you.” She teased, standing upright and walking over to Ollie, wrapping her arms around him and giving him a squeeze.”You know I missed you too.” She told him, resting her chin on his chest and looking up at him happily. “You also know how much I love your cat.” She pointed out, grinning as she pulled away. “So, what’re you working on today?” Sally asked as she perched herself on the couch, resuming petting Opal’s fur.
“Jealousy?” Ollie asked mock offended. “Who would be jealous of that?” He said laughing, gesturing towards the cat. He patted her gently on the back as she hugged him, but it turned more into a comforting brush. “I’m still not too sure about anymore Sally.” He joked back looking down at her. “So you’re confirming you love Opal more than me?” He laughed lightly. “Which I think you just did.” He motioned at her when she pulled away. “Just a lot of grading of students’ papers. Just busy work if I’m being honest.” He said with a shrug.
Minnie began skipping along the streets with all her colored bows ready to start designing some clothes as she bumped into someone, gasping she quickly picked up the bows, “Oh gosh!! I am so so sorry!”, She quickly rushed out her words.
Ollie was running slightly late to class, so he was rushing down the street. He looked down at his watch for just a moment to try and make sure he wouldn’t be late. Unfortunately he wasn’t watching where he was going and ran head first into someone. His eyes went wide as he noticed all of the stuff fall from her arms. He got down to try and help her. “No! I’m sorry. I looked away for a second when I shouldn’t have.”
“Listen, I’m not saying that I came here just to pet your cat but… I definitely came here just to pet your cat.” Sally told Ollie with a small giggle as she walked into the apartment, smiling at the sight of the little orange kitten on the arm of Ollie’s couch. Ever since what happened with Finn, and then finally getting her stuff out of Jack’s house, Sally felt… better. She felt that freedom that she first felt when she left her dad’s that first week. She wanted to make up for the time she had spent in bed crying over some boy. What better way to make up for it than going to play with a kitten? “Hi Opal…” Sally cooed as she walked over to the couch, kneeling down beside it and gently scratching the kitten under her chin. “I missed you baby.” She giggled a little, pressing a kiss to Opal’s head before looking back at Ollie. “I missed you too, of course.”
“Glad you can at least be honest about it Sally.” Ollie said with a light laugh as he closed and locked the door behind her. He turned to see her already heading for Opal who had been relaxing with him on the couch. He couldn’t help but feel a smile form on his face. She reminded him a lot of his younger sister, just by how happy she could be with the littlest things. He let out a happy sigh as he watched her lean down to greet the cat. He moved behind her and planted himself on the other side of the couch. “Sure you did. Totally not here just because you haven’t seen Opal in a while.” He let out a small laugh. “Well I’m sure she missed you too, so it’s fine that you ignore me.”
— “Nothing is too weird, lay it on me, kid” Daron shifted where he stood, putting the weight of his arm on his guitar “I’ve got a pretty good vocal range, and i’ve got many requests, I doubt anything could surprise me at this point” he let out a small chuckle, grinning at the boy, he was intrigued to know what kind of music he was into, Daron was a strong believer that music really could tell you a lot about a person.
Ollie thought through all the music he could name off the top of his head as he tried to pick the weirdest songs he knew. A small smile grew on his face as he remembered some of the music his older sister used to play while he was around. “Well, unless you know French, I don’t think I can lay it on you.” He laughed lightly. “I highly doubt sur ma route and tous les mêmes are apart of your usual sets.” He knew he butchered the titles, but he honestly didn’t care. He wasn’t actually too found of the music anyway.
— Daron had been out for most of the day, planted in front of the steps to the museum, guitar strapped around his neck, singing and playing, guitar case open at his feet, ready to receive any cash anyone walking by could spare. He finished up his current set, a smile across his face as he saw someone watching him “any requests?” he asked curiously, he really did enjoy just playing for anyone.
Ollie went to the museum occasionally if he had to for school work. In fact, that is why he was finding himself walking towards the front steps. He slowed though as he began to hear music. It was slightly odd. He couldn’t remember ever hearing anything like it before. He stopped when the musician came into view. He blinked, wide-eyed, as the other noticed him listening. “Uh. I’m sure you wouldn’t know any of the songs I listen to. My music taste is a little weird.” He said letting out a small laugh.
I know I am horrible and such trash, but here is my new baby Ollie. Everything about the new baby is under the cut. Thank you for reading! I hope at least some of it makes sense.
that’s ( Ollie Coldburn ) walking down the street, the ( Twenty-five ) year old, who looks like ( PJ Liguori ). here in apple peak, they work as the ( Teaching Assistant ). some say he acts like ( oliver ) from ( oliver and company ), since he can be ( brave ), but also a little bit ( naive ).
He doesn’t really know anything about his family. He doesn’t know where he’s from, if he has siblings, or even what his parents were like. He was put up for adoption as soon as he was born from his knowledge.
He grew up in an orphanage in New York. There were plenty of kids there his own age that he grew close with. He felt like they were his siblings because he didn’t have any actual ones.
Unfortunately, he had to watch a lot of them leave him. His friends were getting adopted one by one without him. He had become slightly bitter because of it. He was alone in the orphanage.
He eventually got adopted by a seemingly nice family, but he was already around ten years old. It was bitter sweet. He was glad to now have a “family,” but he still resented that it took him so long to be adopted.
He now had two sisters and parents that were rather kind to him. His older sister wasn’t as happy to now have him around. His younger sister adored him though. She loved him like he was actually her brother.
Ollie spent most of his time with his new older sister though. She was not very kind to him. She would often bully him to make him feel bad. It was obvious that she didn’t want another sibling to deal with.
He dealt with this abuse for years. Six whole years he dealt with her constant barrage of mean comments about how he didn’t really belong there. It came to a point where he actually started to believe her.
So he left. He ran away at age 16 from his adoptive home. He made his way farther north, until he hit Apple Peak, Maine. He did odd jobs along the way in order to get places to stay for a night or two.
He spent a few years working part-time jobs until he made enough to make it through college. He graduated with an education degree. He wanted to help kids more than anything else.
He currently has a job as a TA at the University while he finishes getting his masters in elementary education. He is enjoying it more than he thought he would, but he still would rather work with kids rather than college students.
