what's Chantry?

ahh, you must’ve come from one of our non-Dragon Age character posts! I’m glad you asked! the chantry is basically the catholic church in a video game. The chantry condones violence against certain groups of people (i.e. mages, elves), they brainwash their religious followers into believe in a god that turned away from humanity and left the world and only through “good deeds” (chantry approved moral activities) will he come back, and they support an organization that imprisons and slaughters mages just because they have magic (of which few people in this universe are born with). since the chantry is a direct reflection of the catholic church, it kind of demonstrates everything wrong with christianity in our world.
