im imagining Rumi as a kid in an au where she was raised in the demon realm. Rumi accidentally finds herself in the human realm with a bunch of other demons after there was a tear in the Honmoon.
Celine arrived to deal with it alone, as the other two-thirds of her soul were off faraway doing promotions with brands Celine didn't care much for. She was tearing through the hoard like it was nothing when she saw a small weird looking demon.
And yk, Celine was looking at her, a demon with patterns only partially covering her arms. A small demon with tears in her eyes, patterns and peachy -human- skin. Unlike the rest, this one wasn't trying to attack her. She's never seen a demon disguised quite like this.
Not as a child. And definitely not some half done disguise with patterns so obviously showing.
Even as Celine continued to dispatch the other demons, this one merely cowered and gave futile attempts to go back through the mending tear.
Even with all the glaring oddities Celine couldn't help but notice, really all that mattered had been the demon's hair.
It was purple. A shade of which Celine doesn't think she'd ever forget.
When all that remained was the two of them, the demon trembled as she approached, crying. It tried and failed to teleport away, only succeeding in creating plumes of pink smoke.
Was this some kind of sick joke from Gwi-ma...? To get in her head? To make her falter so before landing the killing blow? To use the memory of Miyeong's child against her?
Celine was tired of the audacity of demons.
Her hwando were held tightly in her grasp. Even if she knew logically they were there, she felt disconnected from most everything. She wouldn't let him win. Not again.
The demon's mouth was moving, if there were pleas, Celine couldn't hear it through the raging storm going through her mind.
Though the storm fell terribly quiet once her eyes landed on the skinned knee of the demon. It was bleeding.
Demons aren't supposed to...
Celine let her blades fall back into the threads of the Honmoon. Or maybe she just let them fall to the floor. Either way her hands no longer had anything in their grasp.
Celine fell before the demon the child. Her own knees scraped against the earth as she looked on at that child. A child she was to raise with the others. Celine took the child's hand and cried. Cried for the life neither got to have. Cried for the nights spent wondering 'how it could have been'. Cried for all the time wasted not finding her sooner.
Celine held her hand close.
"Rumi..." The name was barely a whisper on her tongue.
The girl startled at the name.
"I'm sorry..." Was all Celine could choke out then.
Heheheh... Not sure how Rumi ended up in the demon realm in the first place, but in my head, Celine was there for Rumi's birth. So was thirdlight but she was more conflicted about the half demon baby thing. I think the lack of unity between the three had caused the tear. Especially with the lack of content for the fans since Miyeong's pregnancy.
For a while it seemed fine, the tears were nothing they couldn't deal with, but yk turns out Gwi-ma was merely toying with them so they wouldn't realize how strong he had gotten.
I think they had gotten a good amount of time with freshly born Rumi, even a few pictures prolly. I imagine it was tense, especially with the little purple curl on the girl's shoulder. As hunters they were taught to kill anything with his mark on it. But... This child was innocent in all that. She didn't ask to be born. Should this child pay for their choices?
Looking at baby Rumi in that moment convinced Celine they were right to say she shouldn't.
Then the fire nation attacked
Then Gwi-ma's forces attacked.
Blah blah, anyway, time for the good stuff. So I'm imagining Celine and Thirdlight go to deal with ts cuz yk, it isn't exactly advisable that the woman who just gave birth go demon hunting. Miyeong stays behind with Rumi as the other two set off.
The Honmoon was barely holding it together as it seemed to be a much more coordinated attack, tears opening left and right (it was like five, but that was practically a million compared to usual)
Some more blahs later, and uh oh, Miyeong was also attacked. Some of the demons from a tear they couldn't get to fast enough had gotten to her and the newborn any Miyeong is in pretty bad condition, and she looks destroyed. More so emotionally than anything else.
Celine was ashamed of how long it took her to realize Rumi was nowhere to be seen, too distracted on Miyeong when she saw her.
It seemed Gwi-ma didn't like the idea of his demons being intermingled with the hunters. And he dealt with it.
Later Miyeong would say demons had gotten to the hospital. Teleported right in while she and Rumi were alone. In her weak state, they managed to steal Rumi right from her arms.
Miyeong didn't go down easily. Even without a close range weapon, she summoned a single arrow from the Honmoon to stab. She could see the demon's claws digging into Rumi's skin, the newborn wailing as said skin broke, making way for blood.
This only enraged Miyeong further. The demon didn't seem all too pleased with the child, threatening her to be silent. Miyeong fought, but most the fight left her body when she saw the telltale pink smoke of teleportation.
One second Rumi was there, then next she was gone, and right after that she was being shaken awake by Celine.
Miyeong was a husk for a long time after that. They all were a bit changed. But... They were soul bound. They would get through it together.
Miyeong's demon lover was no where to be seen after that. Whether Gwi-ma killed him or he willingly never showed his face, he was gone from her life.
Anyway blah blah back to where we were. I have a terrible habit of trying to summarize only to start writing or semi writing. Anywho i didnt plan anything out so if it doesnt make sense thats why. Might expand further on the first half from rumis perspective but im lazy
Once again, case of me sending a pretty much done post to drafts because i didnt quite like it then i forgot it there.
Lol im not rereading ts im just gunna post it
