Rising from my grave to voice my distaste for the Marchenghast castle story line

star stable dont be racist for one storyline difficulty level fucking IMPOSSIBLE

having the the witches be the only group to have SOME poc, and then have their ancestors in he story be attacked, murdered, have the culture erased, their homes built over top of, just to have them say shit like "we have all done bad things and violence is bad no matter what side your on UnU" girl...

im sorry, since when has avenging your dead ancestors, your homes, your livelihoods, your culture EVER been a bad thing? these witches and beasts were slaughtered and this is the take that the writers are going with? right,, ok.

like, literally in the start of the damn game you commit CRIME to save the moorland farm, so Thomas and Justin can keep their home. repeatedly in the game we go out of our way to do the right thing for our cause, whether or not its entirely legal. we sneak into private property, destroy private property, all for the sake of the greater good.

but sso will have a group of people in their game be a different race/culture, and then have them be othered because of their race/culture, and then try to take a "violence and law breaking is bad" stance.

what..

i really REALLY wanted to like the Marchenghast questline, but this is just, insane. sso, please get more poc and culturally diverse people on your team, or at least have someone read this shit over before yall put it in the game.

FIXED SHADERS

hello everypony

I had figured out what the problem was with my rain shaders was awhile ago and fixed the issue, however, i suffer from Severely Lazy and Can't Be Bothered disease and havent posted updated version of the files UNTIL NOW!!! HERE THEY ARE!!! WOWIE!!!

anyways, the problem was is that they were crashing my GPU. APPARENTLY when a shader file says "increading sample size causes your preformance to tank, dont go passed this rate" they really mean it!!!! it's a shame i dont know how to open my eyes and read,, ah well but it works now YAY ME!!!

also forgot to add, this fix is for any of my shaders that used any sort of reflection, so if u used my morning shader aswell, that was fixed too

I ALSO forgot to mention i updated my Sunset shader to make it look a little bit more natural!!!!

UPDATE! Previously, my shaders were mainly based around the shader affect IMMERSE. Unfortunately, the new PC I bought was unable to process those affects, so I had to switch to MXAO (earlier version of IMMERSE). I personally really loved IMMERSE and I'm extremely sad I had to stop using it, the shadows were so smooth! I have tried my best to make these shaders look and behave as similarly as possible to earlier versions of my preset packs. There is occasionally some issues with shadows, but I've tried my best to hide any weirdness. Besides that, I have improved the load order (I think idrk tbh) and added some new affects into the mix with these presets! I hope you enjoy!

Your zombie au is SOOOO COOOL I don't think I've ever seen something like this for star stable and I'm so excited to see what u do with it!!

sorry if this was mentioned before im not on tumblr lots but in your au do soul riders/someone like the canon MC with aideens power react to it any differently? would they be targeted first since they're on the front line against garnok?? for that matter does garnok have specific control over how/to whom the infection spreads or is it more of a natural/magical energy thing? how did dark core/the dark riders respond to all of it??

the soul riders or just as susceptible to the infection as everyone else! like Anne in my little looping animation, is sadly trapped in Pandoria forever and has been turned to a zombie. Same with Concordes old body! Tho, the surviving soul riders DO have an advantage, since Lisa is able to heal them with her magic from the Star Circle, they dont have to worry too hard if they get roughed up by a zombie.

Garnok probably COULD use the energies to control those infected, however, since he's already confident from being released and watching the energies spread and wreak havoc without him needing to put in anymore influence. he no longer feels threatened by the soul riders because, at the moment, they're pretty helpless to stopping. He knows they can fight forever and they will eventually succumb to the infection. so, in his mind, theyre already dead.

AND I DO HAVE SOMETHING PLANNED FOR THE DARK RIDERS!!!!

Will the infection work the same on non-earth begins like Fripp? or Pandorians? or Garnok fellow followers? (cause I'm guessing they were no longer needed when he got freed by them.)

Do you have a theory for how it got onto Jorvik as far as like who was "patient zero" and where? Is it like other "infections" where it starts in a part of Jorvik and spreads, or does it pop up everywhere at once bc of the Pandoric roots to it?

I'm just salivating for more worldbuilding and story behind this

since pandoric energies already exist round Jorvik, once that energy became corrupted, the individuals who have been around that sort of magic the longest and have been around concentrated energies would have been the first to turn!

I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ASKED1!!!!!!

half of my inspiration for this virus was actually based off of Evergrays "disease" he developed after being exiled and spending AGES in Pandoria! It's been about 5 years, I think, since i played the quests where you meet him, but if i remember correctly - he's basically dying due to his prolonged exposure to pandoric energies. I like to imagine Garnok being able to take control of that aspect once he's freed and use some of his magic to manipulate the already existing tears in reality where pandoric energy seeps into the world and put his own demented twist on it to make it spread faster.

I use the terms "virus" and "infection" in the sense that its something that can be contracted and spread like a viral infection. It's not necessarily an actual virus, probably more of a disease now that i think about it..., but it can be picked up by hanging around a concentration of the energies or being harmed by something that has the concentrated energy existing within it. As well, I sort of use those terms to attach a natural human fear to something unreal. Since its a magic based illness, treating it more like something we already know allows us to connect to it more - rather then being like "oooooo scary magic!!!!"

UGH there is so much I can't wait to explain with this story as it progresses. I'm such a zombie geek, I wrote my Highschool Senior Paper on zombies and what they represent about society and how we connect with them so deeply. I love getting to be able to put my months of research into an actual story. and if anyone is curious about my paper id be more then happy to share it here!!!!! ... if i can find it KJASDFASDLKG
