What is this blog?
@yourultraarchive is the home of the templates I (the “archivist”) created based on the My Hero Academia: Ultra Archive databook character profiles. There are downloadable PSD versions for full control of customization for layout and colors, and an online generator version with less customization for people who don’t have Photoshop and still want to use the template. It’s available for all to get as creative as they want with it!
The blog itself is a hub for the profiles made with the templates and OCs in general. The inbox is always open for submissions and questions, and if I will always try my best to answer your asks (as soon as I am able), whether it’s about using the templates, if you need HTML/customization help, or if you need a hand with your character design/development.
ADDENDUM: Please note that this blog is NOT a roleplay blog, nor is this some fanfic or the like where we're collecting OCs to fill out the world. The characters you create are 100% still your own, for you to do whatever you wish with them, whether that is for RP or fanfic or fancomics or whatever else. If you’ve used the templates and you have a fanfic or fancomic, feel free to submit a link to your own blog or website and I’ll reblog it. If you’re looking for someone to RP your character with, however, I’m afraid this isn’t the place for it and I’m not sure where to look for other RPers, but I’m sure there’s one for you out there. Good luck!
Will you make a template for pro heroes/the provisional license cards/the UA student IDs/etc. or add [so and so] feature?
Student and Villain templates are currently the only profile types available, so I get asked about the Pro Hero templates a lot. The answer is: eventually. But I’m working on this whole project on my free time and for free, and usually only when I feel motivated to do so, so it’s going to take a while.
(In the meantime, check out the answer to this ask for an alternative solution if you want to make your own Pro Hero profile!)
The answer for other templates I might consider making in the future is: maybe. I’ve been asked about ID cards before, and also the Ultra Analysis profiles came out and they look really cool but also really hard to make templates out of, so if I ever do it I’ll let you guys know. For now, consider it a “no” and don’t be expecting it, however if you want to drop by and let me know you really want it, I’ll keep it in mind.
As for specific features for a currently available template, I love genuine feedback and suggestions! Feel free to send an ask about it and I’ll see if I can add it or I’ll tell you if I won’t be able to. But like everything else, new features will take time to make, so please be patient!
ADDENDUM: Due to lack of use, it’s highly unlikely I’ll be making more templates, though I do hope that someday I’ll get around to it. See my post here for the full reasoning. The tl;dr of it is: no one is using the templates. It’s hard to be motivated to make more of them when no one is using them. This is like fanfic, guys: not commenting really puts a hamper on wanting to do more. If you really want me to make new templates, show me it’ll be worth it to do so.
What if I find a bug/glitch in your templates?
Definitely send an ask or private message, I try to prioritize fixing those if they’re reported. Things that would be helpful if you find a bug though, is if you tell me:
where you found it (which template?)
how you came across it (stuff like: were you trying to input or do anything in particular, like place a weird HTML tag or upload an image that was too big for the online generators?), and a set of steps of what you did would be nice
what browser (and version of that browser) you were using
I’ll get back to you as soon as possible and post an update on the blog once it’s fixed.
I can’t find your templates on mobile! Why not?
The templates are located on a tumblr “page”, which are unfortunately unavailable in the tumblr app. You can try viewing the pages on a browser on your mobile, but I don’t know if that will make it better. This is what it actually looks like on iOS Safari:
The templates are made for desktop browsers/programs. The PSDs are too complicated to be editable on mobile as far as I know. The online generators have dimensions that are too large for a mobile screen to be usable, and if it was shrunk down to fit mobile screens it would be too small to be legible. Also, the current user interface is not made for mobile specifically, and would be annoying to navigate on mobile. Not to mention there are issues with fonts and arrangement on mobile, and exporting the image generation and save data, that I’m still trying to find workarounds for. (Notice how the text is pixelated in “preview” mode, that the fonts are all wrong and overlapping each other in “full resolution” mode, and that the UI for data input just looks... messed up.)
I will be working on a mobile compatible generator in the future, however it will not be coming soon. I can only recommend you visit the website when you have access to a computer.
The online template generators aren’t working/I can’t save my template.
It may be an issue with your browser or that Javascript isn’t enabled. Try using the generator in Firefox or Chrome and making sure Javascript is enabled in your settings first. If that still doesn’t work, send me an ask and we can figure out what’s going on.
For issues downloading the template on the online generators, see the answer to this ask.
I need help using your templates.
For the PSDs, I put instructions in the layer names. I made a few posts about layout and font customization in the PSDs too. However, if you still need help with anything more specific, feel free to send an ask.
For the online generators:
HTML help
Layout help
Fonts
Downloading/saving the full resolution template
If you need help in other things that aren’t already on the blog somewhere, feel free to send an ask.
Will you make a template for me?
No, sorry. I’ll help you with individual parts if you ask me, but I won’t make a whole template for you even if you sent me a list of all your character’s info.
ADDENDUM: As mentioned in some of my personal posts, I can create a template for your character if you donate to me! Feel free to send an ask to inquire more about this.
Will you design/draw my character for me?
No, sorry, I’m not really a character designer. However, if you don’t know how to design a character yourself, you can always commission/buy/adopt a design from someone else. I have a whole “adoptables” tag for it! Honestly the idea is great, especially for people who, like me, aren’t good at designing hero outfits or something. The rest of the character (quirk, backstory, etc.) is still going to be up to you, too!
If you already have a character design but want someone else to draw it, my “commissions” tag is full of artists, so you can find a style or price range that will work for you and contact those artists individually.
If you want to design a character but don’t know where or how to start, I have a few posts in my “character design” tag about the visual design, as well as alternative options if you can’t afford/don’t want to commission someone else. There are links for dollmakers to make images of your character (which are also a good starting point to make art/design references if you plan to commission someone else to draw your character later); as well as tips for general character and outfit design.
Can you help me come up with a name for my character?
I think I get this question a lot because of the guide I wrote, but for any questions regarding names, I must point you first toward my post “Creating a Name for your MHA Character”! Please read through that first before asking any questions, as it is very thorough and I worked very hard on it for all you OC creators! There are links at the end for more specialized tips and other related posts as well, so be sure to check those out.
If you just want to ask me “can you help me come up with a name that means X”, the guide is basically a step-by-step instruction manual for how to do that on your own. If you are lacking ideas, the guide also gives different examples that I hope can inspire you. Otherwise, if you are truly having trouble, then you can feel free to send me an ask!
ADDENDUM: I am getting a LOT of questions, especially simple ones, about making names, and it makes me feel like no one is actually reading the very long, thorough guide that I wrote specifically because of this very reason. The majority of these questions are questions of opinion on what sounds "right" or "official" or "grammatically correct".
Firstly, I would like to state plainly for those who missed it in my guide that I am NOT an authority on Japanese names, especially since I'm not Japanese. I have emphasized in the guide that MHA names are mostly nonsense to be punny or thematic, so there are no hard and fast rules that are "grammatically correct", thus asking me such questions is redundant.
Secondly, if you ask for my opinion on names you already created, for the purpose of if it "sounds right" or "what fits my character better", my answer will ALWAYS be "whatever YOU think sounds right". Again, I am NOT an authority, and should not be looked to as such for some kind of final say. These are YOUR characters, own them! Especially when you've gone through all the work to make that name for them--I'm not going to tell you it's wrong or that you should change it completely. Especially so when you've made MULTIPLE names to choose from--even if you're not sure which one "fits better", if you ask me for my opinion on such things, my answer will without a doubt be "whatever YOU prefer".
With all these asks for "how to make a name" advice, please keep in mind that that is not the purpose of this blog. I keep giving advice and I always say "I look forward to seeing you in the archive!" but I never actually see the fruits of either of our labors, for you who made the character or for me who helped you name them. So if you ask for help with a name and have no intent to actually interact with this blog other than that, please consider supporting me in some way. Thank you in advance!
I want to make an OC to use your template but I don’t know where to start.
There is a “getting started” tag for all your beginning needs, including a character questionnaire for fleshing out your character’s details, personality, and backstory. Also posts about character design, creating names, and quirk ideas!
I have an OC but I need help fleshing them out.
The “getting started” tag should be helpful in fleshing out your characters, but if you need anything more specific feel free to send an ask. If you need a second opinion or need help figuring out the specifics of a quirk or something, I’ll be happy to be your sounding board.
I made a profile from your templates, but you haven’t reblogged it yet.
This blog runs on a queue because it’s not usually very active, so I try to keep stuff spaced out to keep it from being too quiet around here. If the queue hasn’t been running for a while and you just posted something and tagged me, chances are it’s in the queue and will be posted the very next day, given that I’m not too busy with real life and had the chance to see it and reblog it. So if it doesn’t show up in like two days, go ahead and send an ask to give me a poke! If I am busy in real life, the weekend is usually when I have time to check tumblr, so it’ll most probably be in the queue by then (and again, if it’s not, it’s okay to give me a nudge!).
Can I submit a question or profile template on anon?
Absolutely! I get what it’s like to want anonymity. Anon asks are turned on, and if you want to submit on anon you have to log out first or just open the blog in an incognito/private window.
Do you have access to the BNHA Databooks (Ultra Archive or Ultra Analysis)? Can you translate/post [so and so] from the databooks?
I do have access to both books. I will not be posting every single profile from them, as that would be taking credit for work I did not do (for scans that aren’t mine) or just providing the entire book for free. I’m pro “go support the creators of the stuff you like”. The only reason I got scans of the books were for the high quality images to use to make the templates. If you would like to buy the books yourselves I can only recommend ebay or googling a Japanese hobby shop site.
As for posting translations (as I do understand Japanese), please see this post about it. Long story short I did do a few translations, but I’m not taking entire profile requests anymore. I’ll do the occasional translation if I need to for something, but it’s very tedious. Besides, all of the info from the Ultra Archives and the Ultra Analysis books are actually available on the MHA wiki, they just don’t explicitly state which parts are from the databooks.
If you would like to know about a specific character’s profile from either of the books, I can take a quick glance at it and summarize it for you, and maybe post the page online if it doesn’t exist anywhere else on the internet. Just ask, I’ll do my best if I’m not busy.
Do you know what font was used for the official manga, profiles, shifukus, scanslations, etc.?
No, but if these fonts were eventually discovered I’d post them in my “font” tag. If anyone else wants to help identify them, I’m all ears, I’d like to know too.
Can you translate the templates into another language?
In the future I may ask for help to translate the templates into other languages. If you’d like to volunteer, you can either keep an eye out for when I call for help, or you can let me know in my ask box and I’ll try to keep you in mind. For now it’s only in English!
A bit of a weird ask but would you ever be willing to like give your thoughts on oc creations ?
I think it should be obvious given that OC creations are the entire point of this blog. I'm not sure what opinion you'd like?
At the core of it, people create OCs for existing fandoms to interact with the world of that fandom in more creative ways than just making fanart or fanfics or headcanons that include only the official characters. Sometimes that means creating OCs to fill in the blank spots in the story that make it incomplete--like giving a name to Izuku's father and making him reappear in a fic with some explanation as to why he was gone, or giving classmates to the 3-B trio that would help expand their story and how they got to be so strong/popular, or just making a character that one of the hero students saves and having that character go on to become a hero themselves inspired by the one who saves them. Sometimes that means creating OCs just to exist in the world without interacting with the canon characters because the lore is so cool--you write a story to see what it's like for an OC with a mundane quirk to live in a world so dominated by the heroics industry and how its politics and so on affects them (or doesn't affect them, bystander stories are kinda fun too), or an OC with a super powerful quirk who doesn't want to be a hero and keeps getting pressured into it and follow their story about how they face that. Sometimes that means creating a support student or company to explain why a certain invention exists, or to explore and expand the world building by seeing how those inventions integrate into that world. And sometimes they're just a one-off character that the heroes talk to maybe once, but you have a whole backstory for them in your head anyway, to explain how they got to where they were and/or their thought process when they met the aforementioned heroes.
Fandom is about connection, and creating OCs is just another way to connect to the content and often other people who have an interest in the same things/ideas. OCs are a way for you to explore someone else's creation. If writing fanfic is an exercise in emotional continuity (because when you write a character so OOC that they're no longer recognized as the canon character, they're just an OC that has a main character's name/appearance slapped onto them) then writing your own characters is an exercise in environmental continuity--it's engaging with the content in a way that's still recognizable as being part of that canon, and making something your own within someone else's world, and understanding how you or your character fits within the rules of it. It's the most creative expression of love for a series, I think, because you're creating something new all on its own, yet is still part of an existing universe.
It's a gateway into doing more--because when you play around in someone else's sandbox, where they've already laid the groundwork for new ideas to grow, you inevitably learn how to build your own world--because the next step after creating original characters is creating original worlds and stories to put them in. At least, I think that's where most creative people end up, when they're creative enough to make an OC in the first place. After all, when you're making fan content, you're basically just using someone else's OCs! If you keep creating and get to the point where making an OC is just creating a story/art piece that's completely your own, then potentially other people will draw fanart/write fanfic about your characters, just like you did when you started out in the fandom space.
This blog is generally pretty inactive, which is very disappointing to me, but originally I created it so people could share their OCs. I think with OC culture the way it is, people might be hesitant to do so because of the pre-existing notions regarding creating OCs.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people think creating OCs for existing fandoms is cringe or embarrassing for various reasons--I know young people making Mary Sues/Gary Stus get a lot of flak, but I'm pretty sure everybody was at that stage at some point. It's not just characters that are perfect like everyone probably defines Mary Sues/Gary Stus as, but also characters that are made to endure when being tortured by various obstacles often present in the original material. (i.e. You have an OC that somehow faces off AfO before Izuku does and gets hurt a lot but still wins with no help, or can summon some sort of deus ex machina that ends the battle right away.)
There's nothing wrong with creating OCs like that, because often people who create those kinds of OCs go on to learn from the act of creating it. You learn how to write more in-depth characters when you have a perfect character and then realize the story falls flat because there's no conflict because of it; or because you've created a character purely to whump/torture/write angst about them and then realize there's nowhere else for the story to go if it's all just suffering with no end. You learn how to design because fitting every detail you want into a design would make it look bad or contradict itself. You learn how to think and criticize yourself/your own creation because most of the time, those types of characters are the rawest reflection of yourself in a way--whether that means the character has all the traits you want in yourself or admire in others, or they have flaws you have that you want to write away. You learn that a Mary Sue/Gary Stu isn't actually that interesting because they're universally beloved in-story but boring in how they are stagnant in reality--and then you do better.
It might take a while, but you get there, but everyone starts somewhere. Sometimes you start with a really good understanding of what makes a good OC already because you've learned how to analyze canon characters and what makes those characters and their stories interesting, which is especially common in fanfic since as I stated earlier, fanfic is a study in consistency, so you really have to understand it to really write a good story. But it's also possible to turn an existing character into a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, which eventually does lead to the same conclusion. Regardless of how much analytic knowledge you start out with, though, sometimes you start with inserting the most honest expression of yourself into a story/world you love because that's what makes you happy.
At some point, when you're writing more OCs than canon characters, and when you've made an AU of the world they live in with so many changes it's no longer recognizable as the original canon, then that's just a matter of changing the names and calling that story completely your own, inspired by what you love but now evolved into its own original thing. Then you can go publish it and watch other people make content of your OCs.
So, I'm not sure if that was the opinion you were looking for. But the general idea, I think, is that OCs can be important, even if they're not canon. Whether or not someone else likes an OC or the idea of an OC is unimportant--if it were me, I'm not going to ruin someone else's fun, and I'll respect the amount of effort they've put into thinking up their OCs. A lot of fandoms who dislike OCs probably don't do that, or have really divided opinions on them, but I think people in general regardless of fandom should, if not encourage those who make OCs, at least leave them alone rather than putting them down. (Don't like, don't read, y'know?)
I get a lot of asks with questions or help creating characters, but a whole lot of the time my answers have the same idea: just do what you want if it makes you happy, and don't let anybody stop you from having fun with what you love. As general as that advice may sound, that's my opinion.
This blog is always open to OCs since that is, as I mentioned before, the whole point of it. There's plenty of resources for how to create one if you're just starting out too! And, if you feel so inclined to share your OC, please use my templates? (And, y'know, let me know/tag me/send them in?) It would be nice if I saw people using it every now and then, I worked as hard on them as you do on your characters.
Hello! I was wondering if you could post the section for Bakugo’s lackeys from Aldera (the two with Bakugo before he gets attacked by the sludge villain) or at least any names or info on those two. I believe they should be on page 174 next to Tsubasa (the winged kid) but I haven’t been able to find anything about what’s actually in that section, not to mention they’re such minor characters that they don’t really have a page on the wiki. If possible then thanks in advance :)
Thanks for the exact page number, that helped! (Though I do wonder why you'd need me to post the page if you already knew it?)
They don't seem to have names though. The translation is "Izuku and Bakugou's Childhood Friends: The boys who attended the same middle school as Izuku and Bakugou. The long-haired boy on the left possesses the Quirk of being able to extend his fingers."
So apparently people had used my templates and posted them on other sites (like deviantart and reddit) years ago and I missed them because they didn't submit them to me and I didn't know to go looking? So there's a few in the queue now.
Part of the charm of the world of MHA is that the characters are just as quirky as their powers, and they have names to match. So when you want to be a part of this world, and put your characters into it, sometimes you want to match that too. When you have an OC idea, maybe even a concept design or backstory drafted, but you don’t have a name for them, where do you start coming up with one?
MHA takes place in Japan, so of course the characters have Japanese names–most of which will be a pun of some sort. Not that there can’t be non-Japanese characters or names, but if you want to create a character to fit in with the currently established world/school in Japan, you might want them to have a Japanese name too.
That said, for people who don’t know where to start, let’s go over the basics of Japanese written language and Japanese names. Then I’ll talk about the names in MHA itself, how to use online resources to create a name, and how to make it punny. Read on under the cut! (Best read on the blog itself and not your tumblr dashboard, there’s a lot of formatting and bullet points and stuff.)
Added a small note before the "read more" line to encourage people to read on the blog itself, because I just realized that a lot of the formatting (mostly bullet points) is lost on the dashboard style post.
Want to mess around with the Ultra Archive generators/templates but don’t have an idea of what to do, or need an idea for inspiration? Take the challenge to create characters or profiles that fit the prompts and expand the world of MHA in your own way!
The prompts have a wide range of themes, and are posted every month with details on what subjects fit the theme. Check out the links below to see the challenges and the people who fulfilled them!
All Challenges and Prompt Fills (Challenge Prompts tag | Prompt Fills tag)
Challenge #1: Comic Book Superheroes & Supervillains
Challenge #2: Monster Mayhem
Challenge #3: Cartoon Crossovers
Challenge #4: (To be announced)
Want to do a challenge too? Pick one (it doesn’t have to be the most recent one!) and make a character profile sheet with either the PSD template or the online generators found on our blog page. Then submit it, send an ask to our inbox, or tag us @yourultraarchive to let us know to reblog it, and we’ll add it to the archive.
There aren’t really any rules as to what the prompt fills need to have or look like. Feel free to use official art/stock images if you need to, or do art yourself if you want to, but we’re not looking for anything super fancy here. If you do use images from other sources, though, be sure to credit appropriately! Unless it’s from a manga panel, a comic book spread, an anime screenshot, a TV show still, or anything general or publicly available, always ask permission from artists before using their art for a template. Stealing and plagiarism is bad, and won’t be featured on this blog if caught.
These challenge prompts are for you to have fun with the templates or get practice using them. More challenges will appear over time, but we are always open for suggestions for new themes or prompt ideas, so shoot us an ask or private message if you have something to contribute! Other than that, mess around with the prompts and templates to your heart’s content! We can’t wait to see what you guys send in!
I... 1000% forgot this existed at all. I never did continue with them because no one filled any of the prompt challenges... Not sure if I should bring them back? I don't know if that will encourage interaction, but if anyone is still interested in these, let me know? (I'm open to suggestions for more prompts too, btw. I think part of the reason I stopped was because I didn't have any more ideas?? It's been so long now, I really don't remember...)
Thank you SO much @yourultraarchive this template was so much fun to fill out!
But here is my MHA Villain OC—'Mori'!
She was one of the League's first recruits, pre-Stain's influence, thanks to a recommendation from Giran (who, at the time, was her boss.) Despite being Quirkless, Mimori is generally bigger and stronger than most civillians/lower-rank thugs and villains just due to her own life experience (she's a tall, buff lady.) Pair that with an incredibly high pain tolerance due to some... sketchy events in her past, and she fares pretty well in a fight against someone who doesn't have a combat-style quirk. And for those fights that she is at a disadvantage? Guns are still pretty effective.
But she's useful outside of combat, too. She's no doctor, but she at least managed to squeeze out a bachelor's before her life went up in flames (for the second time), so she's responsible for fixing up any injuries the Doctor deems "beneath him."
In fact, as the League's influence grows and their enemies get stronger, Mimori actually catches the Doctor's eye—something about her degree in 'Quirk Genetics'?

ADDENDUM: Please note that this blog is NOT a roleplay blog, nor is this some fanfic or the like where we’re collecting OCs to fill out the world. Good luck!
Recent asks reminded me that I should probably update the FAQ a bit. So, I added an addendum to the "Will you make a pro hero template" question:
Yeah.
Basically: this is fan content. It may not be fanfic or fanart, but this is still fan content. I don't want to be like those fanfic authors who delete their works because they feel that no one is reading them, and then get people in their inbox complaining about the deletion. All I want is for people to use the templates! I feel that that isn't a hard ask, given how easy I've tried to make it for you to use. Or maybe I might have overestimated that, given that it's been years since a new submission. But if that's the case, no one has actually told me so. So I'm not sure what else to do but beg for you to just... use them. Otherwise, the lack of fan interaction is really discouraging, yall.
Anyway, that's my bit. Go comment on a long-not-updated fanfic and hope the author gets motivated to write a new chapter, or reblog a fanart that doesn't have many reblogs. I know that will make their day, even if you can't make mine. Maybe you might actually get that new chapter or whatever. Genuinely hoping other people are having a better time enjoying their fandom out there.
Ive been meaning to ask if you got blank templates of Ultra analysis archive btw I love your blogs it's really helpful when I made my ocs
Hi!
Unfortunately the answer is no, because as I stated before (ages ago, it's probably lost to the archives by now) there hasn't been enough interest (and I don't have enough time) for me to put an effort into making a template of either the pro hero profile from Ultra Archive or any of the profiles from Ultra Analysis.
I'm glad my blog has been helpful to you, but no one's been using the actual templates so I haven't prioritized anything about this blog. I had a revamp of the original hero student profile templates (to be easier to edit and save) in the making before, but again, lack of interest (and one particularly rude ask) really discouraged me from continuing.
Thanks for the ask, though, I really appreciate it.
i love love love your blog!! you have a few posts about japanese names, like how to make them and where they fit in but,,, i was wondering how an american name would fit in (like class number, alphabetically, etc.) or how to translate one, if at all. and do you think its a good idea to have an american oc actually attending UA at all? i know you've said you're not an authority, so its totally fine if you dont know. thank youuuu! your templates are amazing btw
Hi, sorry for the late reply! (I actually haven't been on tumblr in like... months. Life and all.)
Foreign/non-Japanese OCs attending UA wouldn't be weird at all--there are canonically at least 3 foreign exchange/transfer/descent/immigrant students (or something of the sort)! Aoyama from 1-A and Pony and Rin from 1-B are all foreigners in some capacity.
As for how they'd fit alphabetically--well, it'd be just like any alphabetical order you'd think of, it's just that it'd be based on the Japanese alphabet instead of English. Here is a good reference for the general rules of that order, including voiced consonants:
In Romaji, these kana are phonetically ordered as:
a, i, u, v, e, o, ka, ga, ki, gi, ku, gu, ke, ge, ko, go, sa, za, shi, ji, su, zu, se, ze, so, zo, ta, da, chi, di/ji, tsu, du/dzu, te, de, to, do, na, ni, nu, ne, no, ha, ba, pa, hi, bi, pi, fu/hu, bu, pu, he, be, pe, ho, bo, po, ma, mi, mu, me, mo, ya, yu, yo, ra, ri, ru, re, ro, wa, wo, n
(This is ignoring "little/small" variants since those are never going to be at the start of a word, but it does determine the order of words that do have them in the middle somewhere.)
(Also a note: "v" is not a natural phoneme in Japanese at all, so they've transcribed it as a voiced "u" sound, which is why it's listed as coming right after "u".)
It may look weird to people used to the English alphabet (you may think it's strange that "pa" comes before "bi" right?) but do keep in mind that Japanese is... well. Not English. This is normal to them!
For a name that doesn't easily fit the Japanese phonetic structure, you'd have to sound it out with kana (and write it out with katakana, since it's a foreign name... see my previous post on that for tips). Some examples:
Pony, written as ポニー, is read "po-ni-i" (since long vowel sounds are translated in katakana as a long dash), and since it's a name starting with a voiced consonant (po), it would go after names starting with "he" (and its voiced versions) and before names starting with "ma". (If we were sorting characters by first name anyway.)
Peter Parker, written as ピーター・パーカー, is read "pi-i-ta-a / pa-a-ka-a" (again with long dashes translating as long vowels), and would alphabetically go before Pony (in either case of first or last name, since "pi" and "pa" both come before "po"). Also, in case you didn't catch the pattern, the "er" ending in English is most often translated as a long "a" sound!
Richard Grayson, written as リチャード・グレイソン, is read "ri-cha-a-do / gu-re-i-so-n". This is an example of sounds like "gr" that don't translate well in Japanese, so you kind of have to squish two syllables together to get it, with the vowel in the middle being somewhat "silent". The most common "silent" character in Japanese is "u", but I've seen "o" a few times too (see next example). This name also has an example of a "little y" sound, where when one of the "y" kanas are combined with "chi" or "ji", it changes it to be one compound sound, which in this case is "chi+ya" becoming "cha".
Mytho or Mute, written as みゅうと or ミュート, is read as "myu-u-to", and can be translated as either of the aforementioned "English" names (because translations aren't a 1-to-1 thing after all). In the example of the "Mute" translation, the silent "o" just kind of sounds better at the end than a "u" does in cases like this. Also, there's another example of the compound "y" sound, though unlike "chi" or "ja", the "y" isn't dropped in the romanization, thus "mi+yu" becomes "myu" phonetically, even though the English name is translated as starting with just "Mu" in the case of "Mute".
Thanatos, written as タナトス, is read "ta-na-to-su", and is an example of a name with that silent "u" at the end.
Valerie Gray, written as ヴァレリー・グレイ, is read as "va-re-ri-i / gu-re-i", and is an example of the voiced "u" sound, which as mentioned above is the usual way to write "v" sounds in Japanese. Alphabetically, Valerie comes before Eijiro, so if 1-A were sorted by first name, her class number would be before Kirishima's.
Anthony Stark, written as アンソニー・スターク, is read as "a-n-so-ni-i / su-ta-a-ku", and is another example of translating sounds that don't exist in Japanese ("th" in English becomes "s" or "z" in Japanese, and "st[x]" becomes "sut[x]") and the silent "u".
Jason Stryker, written as ジェイソン・ストライカー, is read as "je-i-so-n / su-to-ra-i-ka-a", and is another example of translating sounds that don't exist in Japanese, with "Stryker" showcasing that it uses the "st[x] -> sut[x]" rule AS WELL AS a silent "o" rather than the usual silent "u". Also, note the "little e" in there--since "je" isn't a natural Japanese phoneme, it's made using the combination of "ji" and "e", with the "little e" denoting that the "jie" be read as a singular sound "je". In the order of things though, this means Jason comes before Jack (see next bullet point), even though Jason alphabetically comes after Jack in English.
Jack Frost, written as ジャック・フロスト, is read as "ja-k-ku / fu-ro-su-to", and it translates another non-existent Japanese sound ("fur[x] -> fr[x]") and uses a compound "y" sound "ja (jya)". It also has the "small tsu" kana, which is the symbol for a "double consonant" sound (so it's romanized as "jakku" and not "jaku", which audibly sounds different in Japanese). This double consonant sound means that "Jack" alphabetically comes after, for example, "Janet" (ジャネット, read as "ja-ne-t-to"), because even though they both start with "ja", the "small tsu" comes before "ne".
Class number is just based on where they are in the alphabetical order (ie. Aoyama is No.1 because he has the earliest alphabetical character in his surname, "a". Ashido is No.2 because, while she also has an "a" surname, "shi" comes after "o" in the Japanese alphabet).
So for instance, if Richard Grayson was added to 1-A, he would have a seat between Kirishima and Koda since his surname starts with "gu" (in the Japanese writing system!), and his class number would be No.9! Koda and everyone else after him would have their number pushed accordingly. If Peter Parker were added to this same class, he would be between Bakugou and Midoriya!
I hope this helped, and will help others too. Thanks for the ask! (Also thanks for saying so, I feel like no one actually uses the templates at all...)
