I finally managed to paint a shoebill stork in my sketchbook. I used gouache for this guy. I love these birds, they are so cool and they look so intimidating but they also can be very dorky birds. Of course, a lot for me to learn (again), but I'm sure I'll get better with every painting.
My most recent painting in acrylics showing the three Okinawan sword boys: Chiganemaru, Chiyoganemaru and Chatannakiri who are admiring fireworks at the summerly honmaru.
A painting in gouache from April 2026, inspired by the musical verse of Touken Ranbu: Suishinshi Masahide and oodenta Mitsuyo holding hands. Yamabuki flowers are wrapping around their hands. And yes, Myu!Suishinshi and Myu!Oodenta are one of my very hardcore ships x'D Very cracky otherwise, but if you've seen the musicals, then I'm sure you know what I mean x'D
I have forgotten to upoad my art on here again x'D So here we go: Suishinshi Masahide admiring Yamabuki flowers from March this year :D This is a simple painting with gouache and watercolours in my A4 sized Moleskin sketchbook. The branches and flowers are also made with modeling paste.
A red-crowned crane in my sketchbook. I'm probably drawing these birds more often in the future x'D
It's finished, after 92-hours: the "Let's do this in my sketchbook so I can mess up & nothing is lost" AKA The Red-Crowned Crane Talking to the Moon
The painting actually started out with only Tsurumaru and the wave of Shizuka no Umi no Paraiso. You know, the clashing wave that Tsurumaru is yelling at - or the waves just swallow his angry voice since he's actually just yelling at Mikazuki, but yeah.
In the end I also added the upper part showing Mikazuki Munechika. The full moon. I guess you get it anyway x'D
There's a lot of reflective and shiny details, so depending on which angle you're looking at the painting, there will be glittering stars in the sky around Mikazuki and Tsurumaru. The logic might not be so clear, but the waves are crushing down from the sky. I thought it was fitting enough since Shizuka no Umi no Paraiso has the Christians punished and desasters in that religious often just drop down from the sky as I as an agnostic have heard.
I painted this barn swallow in my sketchbook in order to learn more about drawing and painting both animals and plants. So this is number two on my way to learn how to paint this kind of things. Surely I have a lot to learn and practise, but that's the whole idea of doing these small funny illustations.
Just practising to draw and paint animals. This is a deer :D It's the size about an A5 sheet of paper and lives in my sketchbook :3
Uhm... yeah I did it again x'D I hope I can leave him here, Koryuu Kagemitsu being slightly startled by the black ships in Kousui Sanka no Yuki.
Hello friends! My first regular piece of art for 2026 is finished. Yes, I did a New Year's painting, but that was for New Year xD The first regular is Samidare Gou! Samidare Gou and his Shibainu-friend are out on the go. Remember that Samidare will protect his friend at all costs. So I found one of the very gorgeous photos of Yamazaki Shougo and tried to draw him and then I challenged myself to draw a Shiba... Yes I'm not good at drawing or painting animals yet, but here I go and try to improve haha >w< You have to try and try again in order to improve, right? So one of my goals which I would sooo like to accomplish some day is combining existing things - like a photo of Yamazaki Shougo here and combine the reference with something that's not even existing. Well yeah enough talk. I used graphite for this drawing. As a foundation I used water soluable graphite and then I shaded inn the details. Well, Touken Ranbu friends and Musical Touken Ranbu friends, I hope you like it a little bit. I know there are many things I can improve on, but it's a good start for 2026.
Happy New Year of the Fire Horse 2026, everyone! So this is the Touken Ranbu x Pokemon illustration I talked about for the previous two days! Buzen Gou and Rapidash are having a playful run. Because Rapidash is a fire horse and we have the year of the firehorse now, right? So that let me think about that Buzen Gou has a special bond with Rapidash. I actually thought about it because in tkrb we let two of the sword boys take the horse-duties. And yeah it's really a cool crossover, so I needed to make this. The other idea I had was Matsui Gou and Rapidash or Ponita, but in the end Buzen was more suited for that. I like how the scene seemes like right out of a cartoon. So yeah friends, I hope you'll have a great 2026! The bar for this year being better than 2025 isn't too high, so I guess... it almost just can get better x'D
Kashuu Kiyomitsu from TouMyu :D Needless to say that I won't ever draw something like this on printer paper ever again.... or... y'know, we all know I'll do it again. The thing is just when I get too carried away with a sketch that I want to get over on proper quality paper then... yeah. Well x'D
Hello friends >w< Since I don't think I have the time to cook up something decent within these last few days of the year, I think I will just wrap the year up with the art summary I often do. This is it :D
Hello friends, how about TouMyu's Tsurumaru Kuninaga from Paraiso? I just needed to see if I could do him but now I want to make a proper painting.
Hello friends and all you fine people on this platform. Wish you a Happy Second Sunday in Advent :3 Today with a Jiroutachi in a snowglobe.
I have to get back to try drawing and painting more nature again, so I asked my followers over on BlueSky which animals they like. One of them told me that they like owls a lot, and yes, fair enough, I like owls as well. I never painted one before so I guess it looks like an owl - of course not the most realistic one, but still nice for a first try.
