hiyoko was probably one of the harder classmates to turn into despair only because of her stubbornness.
ultimately, it was probably mahiru succumbing to despair that made her succumb as well.
as a remnant of despair, she still found time to spend alone with mahiru. the two were close even in the depths of despair.
after being reintroduced into the world she probably had one of the hardest times not falling into despair.
she tries her best to move past her high school days but still, she has a long road ahead of her.
she tries her hardest to get along with mikan (maybe because mahiru asked her at first) and although she acts like she doesn’t care about what she did to mikan she does feel really bad.
after a while mikan and her become close friends, although hiyoko can still be a bit mean to mikan.

although this song is about love and everything being around someone producing happiness. the song, if put in junko’s perspective, fuckin’ changes. the song can now be seen as everything being what you would want to surround you, not as much the feelings they give. another way, is if you bring the poor, poor remnants into it, they were forced to fuckin’ fall in love with her, to see her as the best thing ever, to see her “in pink”, as lovely as she wants.
