“No! No no no no no nooooo--I can’t handle this,” Yumi practically squealed as she squirmed in her otherwise comfortable seat on Terra’s couch. An innocent Grey’s Anatomy marathon soon became troubling when one of the fictional patients was given a shot for a gratuitous amount of time. For whatever reason, just the sight of a needle is enough to nearly send Yumi into a fainting spell. Turning her gaze away from the screen, Yumi clung to the other girl’s arm, giving it a squeeze as she waited for the trauma to end.

❝ EXCUSE ME, MISS~? ❞ Her voice chimes gently through the mess of sounds and deep bass system; it was a casual night. Going out for the hell of it and drinking like any other day. “You don’t happen to be waiting on or seeing anyone, are you? Cause if so,” she flashes a quick smile; thanking the gods in mere silence as the alcoholic substance she downed much earlier was finally coming into play. She leans up, setting foot into the booth the other girl was in and swings a leg over the woman’s pair, sitting on her lap as she faced her. “You’re not seeing them anymore. ‘sup babe? I’m Chaeyool~”

How long had she been sitting here alone? It felt like ages, and she was just about to leave. She could only ignore imploring, irritating fuckboys for so long before the drinks and the green stopped numbing her sense. Tingly fingers were just about to push away from the booth’s table when a woman’s voice broke her concentration. “Hm?” she mutters as she’s approached by the unfamiliar girl. She’s not exactly sure where this is going--Yumi is usually the one who has to approach. She’s a little taken aback by the ballsy move, but she can’t help the smirk that pulls at the corner of her lips. “I was just about to leave,” she replied, turning her head towards Chaeyool. “I guess I can’t now,” she added with a laugh as she adjusted to the new seating situation. “I’m Yumi. And this place is really boring.”

“I really like the hash brow–” before Yumi can finish her company mandated recommendation, she was cut off by the kid’s rude interjection. Granted, Yumi did have a rambling habit, but they have really been pushing this all day breakfast thing, and she was only doing her job. “Excuse me?” she asked, forcing a smile as she locked her cold, dead eyes with his. She’s not paid enough for this.

— ❛ I said please. ❜ The corner of his lips turned into a small smile, a cute one, because when he tries he actually can look cute, but he was more amused by the fact that she couldn’t do anything to him. Perhaps because she couldn’t quite reach him, though that’s another story.

It had been a long day, tending to his father’s needs as he was going through his post-wasn’t-able-to-save-someone depression. Damian had to be reminded countless times that being a hero also meant buying food for your father; it wasn’t about kicking people’s asses all the time.

B l a n k. His whole life he had been cooked 3-star meals, never having to step foot into a kitchen, and the sheer realization of him needing her help twisted his guts enough for him to mumble an almost inaudible ❛ Sorry. ❜

The teenager’s demeanor changed so strikingly, she was almost concerned. She imagined a lot of evil thoughts hid behind that smile, but she had to admit he was still cute. The cute ones are the ones you have to look out for. They sneak up on you.

Yumi had never really seen someone so conflicted about a fast food order. Most of the time, people come in with a set order and very little time. She saw a lot of impatient people looking at watches, your service never quite good enough for them. She had learned not to give a rat’s ass about these people. It made the job a lot easier.

“It looks like it’s your first time, so a Big Mac meal would probably be a good place to start. Unless you really like breakfast.” A small smile of her own creeped onto her features. “In that case, I really like the hash browns. So crispy.” Her recommendation was punctuated with an even bigger smile that would surely please her grumpy old manager.
